Hey! I'm sorry for not replying earlier, been so caught up with work that I haven't had the chance.

If I'm being honest, I've no real clue as to how to write the essay and structure things etc, as my teacher also hasn't shown us any examples or anything. I know that 30 out of the 45 marks are based on your reading, understanding and research of the novel, so at the moment I'm going through each chapter and making notes on the characters, themes, magic realism, Mexican traditions, important quotations and examples, and making pretty Word documents for my revision. It really helps to go over the novel a second time and make sure you have your key points and examples ready so you've got your analysis.

Other than that, I've got little idea as to how to answer the question unfortunately, so I'm just treating it as a normal Spanish essay and answering it as I would with the discursive essays, but just making sure I put more of the novel into the essay. I think if you just develop a structure in your discursive essays, it can help if you apply it to the Como Agua questions.

If I get any more info from my teacher about it (I keep pestering her but I keep getting nothing!) then I will PM you about it. I'm sorry to not have been more help though! Hope your revision is going well

Thanks so much!!! Thats a great help! Ive just been asking everyone what they have done and most have said link the themes and go over the book, so that's what Im going to do then! Really thank you! It was literally the literature in spanish that I began worrying about, done my oral which went well so thought Id focus on the lit, good luck to you too! Have you done your oral yet?
