Hi everyone, join this facebook group to find out all you need to know as a law fresher http://www.facebook.com/groups/132664560146205/
It has been made by this year's MULS committee (Manchester University Law Society) and we hope you can use it to get to know each other a bit before you arrive, to ask any questions you might have and to hear about all the exciting events we have planned for you!

So who is doing Law?

How old are you?
Where are you from?
What accommodation have you applied for?

Me:

1) 21 - nearly 22 when starting the course
2) Live in Warrington so only about 20 miles from manchester but go to college and work in manchester already...lived in kent for 15 years only been a northerner for 6 years!
3) i've opted for city centre halls - Weston Halls as first choice then Lambert and Fairfield

Will be good to get to speak to others!

Amy x

Hiya!! I'm going to Manchester for law too in Sep. Very excited!

1) I'm 18. Since you're nearly 22, did you do another degree before starting this law degree, or did you take a gap year etc?
2) I live in Wigan, haha I just saw you work in Wigan!
3) I'm living at home, so I'm not living in accomodation unfortunately, or it'll be a lot of fun if I lived in the same halls as you

Hopefully, I'll see you there!

Hey ive worked since the age of 15 and never wanted to continue my education as i hate school! but at 20 id been in loads of different jobs and wasnt going anywhere so i returned back to education doing an access to he course which is a 1 year intensive course studying law and criminology as i decided i wanted to follow my dreams which had always been shot down when i was younger as i was told id never be clever enough to be a barrister! so now im proving them all wrong

Oh wow! I'm glad you've found what you like to do now. Hopefully things work out for you. What are you hoping to specialise in as a barrister?

And I don't think you aren't clever enough, you just didn't like school like many of us didn't, well, that depends I guess on whether things weren't that great at school haha. Well, good luck, and will you be at the freshers fair?

I want to work in Criminal Law but more specifically with people that suffer from mental health issues. I will certainly be at the freshers fair
what are the chances of swapping to law, if you've got the grades & studying a subject similar to law

ring the university and ask, however there was very little available in clearing i believe?
Hi everyone!

I'll be studying law.

I'm 24, so i think so far i am officially the granddad here *shy face*
I'm from London but that does not make me a soft southerner, plus Amylynne is from kent and they have a worse rep :P
and Manchester was my insurance so i had to go private halls so ill be staying in Weston Court which is next to all the halls in fallowfield anyway

Look forward to meet you all!!
