Re: Current Year 11 Thread: Mark VI'm good too thanks, procrastinating as usual(Original post by Maths_Lover)
Fine thanks, you?

Re: Current Year 11 Thread: Mark VAre you joking? He was one of the most progressive composers in history, and in my estimation the second best after Bach (bit facile to rank them, but hey). I mean, who else could have written this at that time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wS4Pa...ature=related? That belongs in the twentieth century, not the early romantic period.(Original post by Maths_Lover)

Re: Current Year 11 Thread: Mark VNaah, didn't do it for me- we had 0 mozart on our spec...(Original post by j.alexanderh)
Yeah, there's loads of **** in the GCSE syllabus (my one isn't as bad as yours sounds). I thought composing + listening to Mozart's 40th and Handel's Messiah was more than enough to make up for that.
On the other hand, we had Punjabi MC to make up for it. Bleurgh. -
Re: Current Year 11 Thread: Mark VOk, well i'll admit it's not actually that interesting, but it's quite a nice coincidence that square numbers are involved

The rotation period of the sun varies according to latitude. It's 25 days at the equator and 36 days at the poles
With the huge amount of facts like this that we have to know for our astronomy exam, it's nice when nature picks memorable numbers

Are you sure? :/
Bye bye.
You aren't disturbing us!

Good.(Original post by tom181)
No--- it was just sarcastic.
It is lovely.(Original post by minimus777)

I already knew that but I had not realised the square numbers thing. Thank you!
My bad!(Original post by j.alexanderh)

I misinterpreted your post and thought that you didn't think Beethoven should be on the Music A-Level Syllabus and that it would be a criminal offense if he were! It made me very confused but I see what you meant, now.

EDIT: By the way, I love that composition.
EDIT2: There we go. The grammar is fixed.Last edited by Maths_Lover; 01-06-2011 at 21:53. -
Re: Current Year 11 Thread: Mark VDid you do Indian classical music?(Original post by tom181)

Re: Current Year 11 Thread: Mark VBoth sides? So what about zero then?(Original post by Maths_Lover)
As Don'tNod said, you can divide both sides by two then factorise.
It was funny, though.

Fair point. Decision involves a whole lot of writing... -.-
I don't mind combinatorics/permutations in Statistics. Measures of location and histograms on the other hand send me to sleep.
Fine thanks, you? -

@everyone: (Vote j.alexanderh for thread grammar Nazi.)
Re the edit: good. Disliking that should also be a criminal offence.Last edited by j.alexanderh; 01-06-2011 at 21:49. -

Re: Current Year 11 Thread: Mark VI think everyone did- if indian classical music were a judge on bgt it would be Michael McIntyre- no one really likes him and you laugh at him rather than with him.(Original post by j.alexanderh)

Re: Current Year 11 Thread: Mark V0 divided by 2 is still 0.(Original post by Xx.MissEG.xX)
Both sides? So what about zero then?
I said "both sides" to illustrate that the same thing should be done to both sides of the equation to keep the two expressions equal. -

0 divided by 2 is still 0.

What have you done???!!! The horror!
At least we both agree that Statistics is the worst of the lot.

Indeed we have
Probability is cool though, not gonna lie.
I'm losing my touch
