Re: University of Essex: Ask A Student Thread / Information Thread :)Can you direct me to where you're talking about on the website because I can't seem to find the pictures/videos that were once there.(Original post by WhatTheFunk)
The accommodation website?
Depends really North seem to get better people living there. But then south is cheaper
The main difference is in north you are sharing between 13 or 14 with 4 showers in 4 loos in 2 of the towers and 3 loos and 2 showers in the other one (never a issue)
South is 16 people with 4 loos and 2 showers
Oh - and are the bathrooms co-ed? -

Well yeah the flats are mixed, you can asked to be placed in a single sex flat.
They are more like bathrooms at home. You have a loo on its own and a shower on its own and you can lock the door -
Re: University of Essex: Ask A Student Thread / Information Thread :)I don't know if it's just my browser but I can only see 2 pictures of Wolfson Court and 1 of the Quays.(Original post by WhatTheFunk)

From about 2 mins is the towers, I think it is one of the south towers. North pretty much look the same -
Re: University of Essex: Ask A Student Thread / Information Thread :)Thanks a lot! Do you think that the money you save by living in the Towers (compared to the Quays or South Courts) is worth it?(Original post by WhatTheFunk)

Re: University of Essex: Ask A Student Thread / Information Thread :)Personally yes. I lived in the towers in my first year. It is like £30 extra for the Quays and south courts just for a en suit, which is not really a bit deal you don't live in a shower, plus dose in the tower do get clean(Original post by CreativeCanuck)

Sure the towers can be loud every weekend and these alot of drinking, but South courts can just be as loud plus the walls are so thin
The Quays is a bit off campus and you do get that feel -
Re: University of Essex: Ask A Student Thread / Information Thread :)
Hi I recently accepted an offer from Essex for a masters in political science. I was wondering if it is better to live on campus in a residence or if it is better to live off campus. When I was in undergrad in Canada I lived in residence for a couple of years and found it too loud. Are the post graduate residences less loud, and a better place to study.

Re: University of Essex: Ask A Student Thread / Information Thread :)Post graduate flats are normally more quieter then undergrad ones, even the tower where some post grad live is normally alot quieter. If you are from canada you may find it hard to get a place off campus with landlords and that ( I don't know the full rules)(Original post by greznick)

Re: University of Essex: Ask A Student Thread / Information Thread :)If you can afford it get yourself a little flat in the area that way you don't have to deal with students(Original post by greznick)
