Re: Philosophy applicants for 2012 entry!lol, I hate arrogant people as well, so it's really good that you're modest. :] Aww, thank you :] I'd be willing to bet a large sum of money you'll get into Nottingham, so you needn't worry either. I'm Daniel by the way, and I'm 6'2, have dark brown eyes and curly black hair. I'm thinking that should narrow down your search. xD :'](Original post by lampshade1)
aha yeah, not the best thing when applying for Uni but oh well! :')
and with predictions like that you needn't worry! you'll easily get offers! Yep, if I get to Nottingham I'll have to ask everyone if they're Danz123 on the student room aha :') -

Re: Philosophy applicants for 2012 entry!yessss(Original post by Danz123)
Ah, well that's a nice name. :] If we both go to Notts, no doubt I'll wait for someone to call out your name, and just come over and introduce myself. xD
ahh so excited for Uni it's unreal!

Re: Philosophy applicants for 2012 entry!I'll PM you to find me on facebook :')(Original post by Danz123)
Aha, so am I :'] Have you got Facebook by the way? It's just its better to talk there than on a thread. Alternatively we could PM on here, if you want to. xD
I'm so impatient for offers now.

Congratulations! May I ask what your predicted/AS's were like?
well at AS I got AAABB but predicted A* A* AAA
my Bs were ridiculously close to As so got to pick up a few more marks this year and I should be fine, ahh!

Re: Philosophy applicants for 2012 entry! Those grades are fantastic! Do you know how much emphasis they place on GCSE's? For A level my grades are similar to yours (AS: AAAAB A2 predictions: A*A*A*A) but my GCSE's were terrible, i.e I didn't even get a C in Maths (extenuating circumstances are specified, but still). I'm worried about even having a shot. Sorry to bombard you with questions, I just figured that since you have an offer you might know the process(Original post by lampshade1)

Re: Philosophy applicants for 2012 entry!I don't THINK they value GCSEs particularly, althought they do specify a C in Maths at GCSE..but if you have reasons I'm sure they'll take them into account(Original post by electric-wars)

I didn't get amazingly brilliant GCSEs and your predictions and AS results are better than mine
so I reckon you'll easily get an offer
from what I gathered at the Open Day, as long as your predictions meet their requirements you'll get an offer, they don't put much weight on anything else, not even the Personal Statement.

Re: Philosophy applicants for 2012 entry!Thank you so much, I emailed them and they said that the maths wouldn't matter considering my circumstances(Original post by lampshade1)

Well done again on your offer; would you consider it as one of your choices/where else are you applying to? -
Re: Philosophy applicants for 2012 entry! So do I. :[ Despite getting one already, it seems as if I'll be in for a very long wait to hear from the others.(Original post by laura94)
I WANT AN OFFER!!!!!! This is verging on rude :P -
Re: Philosophy applicants for 2012 entry!mate seriously don't worry, AAB is no way thick that's class results if you get them! the student room is a terrible reflection of the pool of applicants to university, and many people just lie through their teeth about their predictions. don't worry, i'm sure you'll be fine. i have a friend studying philosophy and theology at nottingham who was predicted AAB and solidly got a place with no problems. so just wait and see, hopefully it'll be fine.(Original post by fnicholl)
just wondering what youre predicted because it seems that everyone else who has had their offers is predicted like 3 A*. im just asking cos i applied to nottingham and im predicted AAB and feel pretty thick compared to everyone else
well I'm Marguerite so doubt you'll find many of them
aha!
ahh so excited for Uni it's unreal!
