Compulsory, you have to do some kind of physical activity.

It probably depends on the school. At mine everyone had to do a lesson (1 hour 45 minutes) of PE a week, but only those who chose it as an option did the full course GCSE. Those who didn't choose it but were quite good at it had the option to do short course.

in GCSE it is not compulsory but you can take short course for P.E
you hv different options for taking subjects so if nothing left then u hv to take pe
