Re: NHS Couch to 5k - Fitness Phobes Anonymous
Just done my first one! So proud of myself. I found it quite hard but I'm hoping that I can keep it up.
The one thing I have realised is that my trainers suck. They have no support, aren't good for running in and I now have three nice, big blisters on my feet where they rubbed the skin. I guess I never really realised how crap they were - probably because I never exercise. So, I'm going to get proper trainers tomorrow. -

Just pick a design, put in your details and at the end you should get a link that you put into your sig thing and it'll come up

Re: NHS Couch to 5k - Fitness Phobes Anonymous
I tried to start this, when I get in the gym I think I try to push myself to run too fast so I get tired out at the 1.5k mark. I also found that I could get way further using music, but since my sports headphones broke i've got to do it with just the generic radio music playing. I am determined to get 5k ran in the next few weeks though.

Re: NHS Couch to 5k - Fitness Phobes Anonymous
I'm going to start this after I move house in a few weeks - moving to a nice quiet area
Currently I live in an area with chavs on every street corner 24/7 and dog**** all over the pavements so not optimal for running, especially since I know I will be a sweaty beetroot face after the first 60 seconds

Re: NHS Couch to 5k - Fitness Phobes AnonymousThats why I run at 4am before work, its only fox's that can see me run and the odd car driving by.(Original post by Anna44)

Re: NHS Couch to 5k - Fitness Phobes Anonymous
I just attempted W5D2 and failed a bit
I'm really disheartened! I did W5D1 in the gym on sunday and found it really easy (I always find the treadmill easier) so was really positive this morning but when I got to 4 minutes in both 8 minute runs I had to walk for about a minute and then finish the run. It was really frustrating! I'll try it again on Friday. Did anyone else find W5D2 particularly difficult? I did think going from 5 minutes to 8 minutes is quite a big difference..!

Re: NHS Couch to 5k - Fitness Phobes Anonymous
Just done Week One Day Two. I found it fine except I still don't have good trainers and my feet hurt again. Otherwise I really enjoyed it. I've been doing it in my garden (which is big enough to run round - it's rather long) but it was raining today but I managed not to fall over! Which is a plus!

Re: NHS Couch to 5k - Fitness Phobes AnonymousWow 4am is dedicated!(Original post by xangelinax)

Still haven't moved (won't be until May 1th) but I've bought a new sports bra, bumbag (for iPod and water bottle) and water bottle so I won't have any excuse not to start straight away! I already have trainers and a load of old leggings to wear.
Quite excited but I am hoping the weather improves as well, it's been raining for weeks now
