Away. There weren't many left mid last week so I gave up hope of going. September has not been a financially kind month!
Tbh, I've only tried for league matches. And I am not very mobile atm so travelling to Manc/Leeds is out of the question for a while, its why I passed on an ST. Hoping to get to a few games after Christmas, if my case is sorted by then.

warwickorbristol is obviously a boy very occupied with his bluemoon/bitter rhetoric. At least he's airing his views in a somewhat reasonable manner this time around - the time he spends posting in this thread has improved him slightly. Or maybe, just maybe, the sugar in his jar is of a high quality today. It certainly wasn't on this day.

There are ups and downs but I feel I've been pretty consistent in my quest to educate the people of this thread on Manchester United football club.

FFS. Learn to read. I said the deal wasn't classy, you claimed City were classy and would conduct business in a classier manner than Utd. That deal is in no way classy. Its not classless but.....

Cook was the figurehead, you cannot at this moment in time say City are a classy operation. Tainted by Cook and his handling of deals, tainted by Mancini whining about Nasri and his lack of options, tainted by the golden handshake between brothers.
I still don't see why it's not classy? It shows we're a family club.

Right get this out of your head, Cook was a bellend employed by Thaskin. The owners bieng classy thought it best they gave him a fair chance, ignoring a few minor cock ups. When they caught wind of the 'cancergate' as you call it they started an investigation, Cook left before that was done. Cook is not synonymous with the club.

Mancini just speaks his mind rather than playing games.

Like I said before, the goldenhandshake is a sign of the family values the club holds.

funny how bitter fans spend their time typing bull**** on this page, and also how they ALWAYS resort to the lines "have you even seen them live?" / "where in manchester were you born?"... its the dumbest ****ing thing ever. not every chelsea/city/barca fan has seen their team live, nor was every chelsea/city/barca fan concieved in the ****ing stadium car park.

do you not understand how big a club Manchester United is? therefore they have more fans - and im not saying every one of them knows the history of the club or watches them every week etc. but football isnt the focal point in everyones lives.

Jesus ****ing wept. It shows that City would do anything to get round the rules. Etihad airways hardly points towards a family club any more than AON does. If you truly believe that line then honestly I despair for you.

But if you say the name Garry Cook then what springs to mind? Its not Nike, its City. You cannot realistically say he is not synonymous with your club.

Just watched a replay of Torres' goal on Sunday and it was dreadful defending. Jones was standing a few feet ahead of Evans in the line, and both full backs were behind the centre backs. Smalling in particular was far too deep. I know it's inevitable with new players yet to build a full understanding with each other, and with guys playing in unfamiliar positions, but I can't wait to see Rio and Vidic together again.

Of the players you mentioned only Cook showed a lack of class and has now left the club, he was also widely criticised by fans and in-house if whispers are to be believed.

I also fail to see how a load of players we paid too much for shows a lack of class. Not sure what was wrong with Barry or Eto'o either. Oh and Kaka was all going to be done behind closed doors till Berlusconi turned it into a publicity stunt.
Tevez lets be fair, he acted a ****.
Adebayor with his stunt to the arsenal fans. Also openly admits he will play for whoever. Not exactly classy.
Barry, one year says wants to join pool. Next year citeh have money so joins them.
Bellamy is just generally a **** really.

Ok do you have any figures to show how long term it's not a good deal? Christ every time a moaning arm chair global advertising guru brings it up they get more value for money. Also what's wrong with airlines? Atleast they've not been fined by the UK government for suspicious payments (corruption iirc?).

Like I said, Garry Cook was an unfortunate left over from Thaskin's rule. We gave him a chance and he blew it.

Adebayor and Bellamy are heavily involved in charity work, Tevez is just a badly advised idiot and we've since cut all links to Joorab because of that. Barry just changed his mind.

Only real poor performance was from Kiko, if anyone needs evidence that he's not a left winger that's the match they should watch. Fryers looked solid although it has to be said Leeds weren't up to much.

The defence that finished the match was ridiculous. Berbatov to start CB against Stoke? :coma:

Pretty good game imo. Must have been a good 8+ changes in whole team line up from the Chelsea game and perhaps Arsenal too. Like seeing how much of a quality team we can put out even without some of the more.. 'important'.. faces.

Thought Kiko done alright considering he was shafted onto the left. I hope he does get more chances this season but it's doubtful.

Owen on Berba at CB: "He plays there all the time in training, he fancies himself as a centre-half."

Rio; Berba loves it at centre back in training....thinks he is Berbenbaur!!

Slightly unfair to berate a young player's performance when he's shunted into an unfamiliar position. He had that 'offside' chance, and worked pretty hard. Team is what matters anyhow.
