Does FP1, FP2 and M1 count as an AS Further Maths course?

I am doing the edexcel board and i plan to take on AS Further Maths, but can this consist of FP1, FP2 and M1? thanks

Just to note, FP2 builds on concepts in C3.
Incase you were thinking of doing it alongside your maths AS

Yeh I'm in my AS year, but although I could take on A2, I'll think I'll stick to AS

pretty sure FP2 will count as a further maths A2 unit, why would you wanna do that at AS anyway out of interest. im doing full A2 further maths and not doing Fp2

EDIT: this is for OCR btw not sure for edexcel

I'm doing exactly the same modules

They'll put C1, C2, C3 & C4 for maths, and FP1 & FP2 for further maths. After that they'll order the rest of the modulues by maximising the grades first, and then they'll maximise the UMS for maths. But they can't put S2 for maths without S1 for example

I know in Edexcel board, FP2 counts as A2, so I don't think that will be a good combo.

FP1 would be ok, not too sure about M1, but certainly not FP2...

Have a look on the specification - I'm doing WJEC and I did AS Pure last year, but wanted to swap to stats this year and still do FP1 and FP2. So I'm doing C1-4, S1 and M1 for A2 and S2 FP1 and FP2 for AS Futher. I asked my tutor in college and he looked for me. They usually tell you what combinations you can do.

Not sure for edexcel but for OCR

C1 C2 C3 C4 will have to be normal maths

FP1 and FP2 will have to be further maths

all the others can be mixed up however if you want M2 or S2 in normal maths u have to have M1 or S1, i also think S3 will have to be a further maths module

supportly; can they put C1 C2 C3 c4 to be normal maths

FP1 FP2 further math

but

D1 S1 go into normal maths

and the rest goes into further math?

what about C1-C4 plus S1 D1 to be normal maths?
and FP1 FP2 S2 S3 M1 M2 to be normal maths?

Is THIS combination sensible?

Yes.

You've for four A2 modules in S2, S3, M2 and FP2 meaning you can slip up in one and still get an A* in Further Maths (270/300 in your best three A2 modules).

Yeah like Groat says, it gives you more of a chance to get the A* in further, but then again it doesn't really matter because you won't get to choose where they go anyway, but don't worry, they'll max sure to maximise your grades
