Im curious... When do you people who dont live in Southampton plan on getting there?

Im thinking on getting there by the 17th of September....

i imagine the majority of people will arrive either the first day of freshers or the day before. the university have official moving in days for each halls but im not sure what they are

25th or 26th of September when your accommodation contract starts, you can't just turn up when you like. You'll be camping for a week if you turn up on the 17th.

I guess then I ll have to stay a week in my uncles house for a week before going to UNI

In my first year I did actually turn up a week before the whole moving in day and the start of freshers week, because I'm an international student and lots of other internationals arrived early as well. If you're living in halls, all you need to do is write them an e-mail beforehand and then you just go there, pay a bit (I can't remember what I had to pay) and then you move into your room

I would actually advise you to come a little bit earlier. As soon as fresher's week starts, it's getting really busy everywhere and people are getting hectic and stressed, particularly in halls and it's just one big mess

Maybe you want to come there one or two days before?

Since 'Meet and Greet' for international students will on 19th til 21st September. Where do they expect us to stay until 25th??

the university provides accomodation for a fee.. When you sign up for the welcome program they ask if you will need acomodation for the time until the 25th....

If you need to move in earlier than your contract starts for any particular reason, you need to speak to the University's Accommodation Service and agree with them to pay for the extra time you're staying.

I'm not sure whether the rate they charge is any different to normal.

Not at Southampton it doesn't.

It will be either the 3rd or 4th of October.
