Re: Love tattoos?Your sleeve is lovely(Original post by cdsmith1990)
I've only got bad-angle phone pics of mine but I'll share anyway...
It's a full Japanese sleeve; 2 Koi fish, 3 Lotus flowers, Cherry Blossoms and waves..
The Kanji I had done a few months before (cliche first tattoo) by a crap 'artist', but I had it re-done to fit in with the sleeve. It's supposed to say 'Gemini' but may well say 'Chicken Special With Rice' for all I know lol...
Anyway this is finished now after 18.5 hours, just a 1 hour touchup session in a couple weeks when I'll get proper photos taken:
Inner forearm, 16.5 hours:

Koi, 16.5 hours:

Inner arm after 18.5:

I've got all the progress pics but they suck lol..
It was done by Matt Hunt who owns Modern Body Art in Birmingham.. Touchup session at the start of July then 2 weeks later I'm starting my other arm with another artist from that studio, Rachel McCarthy. I'm having an inner forearm piece very similar to this that she did recently:

Just to address the 'regret it when you're 80' issue....
I went to the cemetery today for my grandad that died at Christmas, aged 80, from lung cancer. Then to the care home to visit my nan, also 80, who has Alzeimers.
Wrinkly tattoos are the very, very last thing I'm worried about in later life. Trust me.

Re: Love tattoos?
I've had the design for my back piece for over two years now. But unfortunately my mum won't let me live in the house if I have any tattoos done. So I'll have to wait until after university and when I'm in my own place before I can get my art done ): So upset about it!
I also want my feet done, nautical style with anchors and a compass with the colours from the diving flag intergrated in the design! I've had the design for that one drawn up for a couple of months. I wish my mum was more liberal!! Shame, I'll just have to wait and get more excited and envious of other's beautiful art work!! -

Thanks! It's hard to get decent pictures of but as I said, I've got a final touchup in July when I'll have proper pics taken..
Really like yours too, got any more planned other than finishing the current piece?
I'm not sure, I'm hoping to wait a while because I know addictive they are and I don't want to rush into another.
I would love a cameo portrait somewhere, like the victorian necklaces but with a modern twist, probably on my foot but It's not a definite idea. I've had ideas in the past and theyve developed into something completely different...
How about you? -
Re: Love tattoos? My parents don't agree but they are of the 'I can't stop you' mindframe. My dad knows they exist but has never seen them (I rarely have my back on show) and my mum has a love hate relationship with them.(Original post by Hollypops)

At least you know that when you finally get it done you'll be 100% happy with the idea. -
Re: Love tattoos? My dad's not to bothered by my body mod's as long as I don't get my tongue pierced! "You'll ruin your bloody teeth" Whenever I used to ask about getting another piercing he'd just say "If your mother says yes too" which is both very annoying and diplomatic :/(Original post by RachelWest)

My mum knows I have my heart set on this art work, she's watched enough Miami Ink/La Ink/London Ink to know the whole tattoo process!! I just wish that now I'm an adult she'd be a little more liberal with me!! I can't just go out and get them done because I need food and a bed when I come back from uni in Belfast after each term :/ -
Re: Love tattoos?Yeah i understand. The strange thing about my parents is that they would kick me out if I got my lip pierced... yet not a tattoo...(Original post by Hollypops)

Re: Love tattoos?
I would never get one, just because I'm really indecisive, so just really afraid that i wont like a design in a few years time, how do people know for certain that thats what they want on their skin forever? Scary thought.
Whilst some tattoos can look amazing, i dont really find them attractive just because I cant really see past them to thE skin if that makes sense? So it just looks like clothes to me weird i know...
Also about the "when I'm 80" issue, thats silly, what i would worry about is that when I'm a little older, say 40's, it'll just look silly and out of place, especially in a professional workplace.
Those are just my musings though

Re: Love tattoos? If only :/ God, I'm 18!! I've been paying adult train fairs for years now!! My feet designs kinda commemorate my family anyways!! Wish pretty designs would win them over :/ GAH(Original post by RachelWest)

Re: Love tattoos? You just reminded me of this song, and made me smile because i'm going to Glastonbury today (Solstice in advance of the festival)! Thanks, repped(Original post by Delta_Aitch)
I can't really voice an opinion on this as I've not had one done there, but I'm hoping to do my next tattoo either on my side (but more on my back) or on my inner upper arm.
I'll keep you posted (in like 5 years time)

Well I've got that one booked in July, then I'll carry on with that arm I think. I want one of the gypsy-style women on my outer upper arm.. I've found the artist, she's local and specialises in them but she's booked up for well over 6 months so that will wait.
Quite a few ideas to fill that arm though, I'd like a ship but I might have that as a big rib piece because I think it's something you can't really have done small..
I'll be pretty covered by the time I finish uni though hopefully lol -
Re: Love tattoos?Hahaha, I was wondering why that post was repped! No problem, mate. Hope you have a good time(Original post by paperclip)

Re: Love tattoos?
I have no tattoos but I think some look pretty and some that people go round with are just... well let's say I wouldn't personally have chosen them aha. I'd be scared of getting a tattoo because I'm scared of needles and what if the tattooist made a mistake O.o
I used to want a random star somewhere like my wrist or ankle or a ranom place aha but too many people have got stars these days :/ plus the career I want won't allow them on show.
Your tattoos are pretty tho OP

Re: Love tattoos? You'd be better off getting something more personal than a star anyway.(Original post by Jennie027)

Re: Love tattoos? That's probably true(Original post by zjs)
You'd be better off getting something more personal than a star anyway.
I wouldn't have a clue what to get anyway and after a while I'd probably regret it!
Excuse rubbish quality of my camera!

I like ones on the shoulders, too, like the OP's.
