Although I've not quite finished my first draft (procrastination etc.) I've written a good 450 characters on the programming I've previously done, my repositories I've published on GitHub and a short description about a couple of the more notable ones.
    What are you choices?
    If you don't mind...

    Hey,

    I will be applying to study Computer Science at either;

    KCL
    Nottingham
    Lancaster
    Manchester

Do universities offer places on a first come first served basis?

    Thanks!

Hi there, nice choice of uni's I'm looking at one or two of them as well. Uni's unfortunately do not offer first come first served basis, they receive all applications and then shortlist the candidates from there.

    Good luck!

For Computer Science 2012 then Southampton are increasing their standard offer to A*AA (just in case you didn't know)

I'm looking at Oxford, Imperial, Bristol as my current top choices. Not UCL because they require a foreign language GCSE, and probably not Southampton because I don't want to stay at home!
fyi, it is not a requirement nor will you get rejected on the basis of not having a modern language at GCSE. They will simply provide to you the opportunity to meet the modern lang requirement!

so I wouldn't cross UCL off of your list.

Re: Computer Science and IT applicants for 2012 Entry
this thread seems a bit dead... the maths 2012 thread has 94 pages of comments!

I am predicted A*A*A in double maths and chemistry respectively, applying too, in no particular order:

    Imperial (comp sci)
    Warwick (maths)
    Nottingham (computer sci with maths)
    Bristol (mathematics and computer sci)
    Bath (mathematics with comp sci)

three of my choices ask for STEP (imperial, warwick and bristol)

I have the mathematical side as a back up just in case my dreams don't come true (working for Blizzard/ Bethesda softworks). But either way, these companies might actually prefer me with the mathematical background, who knows? :dontknow:

    Applied for Computer Science at:

    Lancaster
    Leicester
    Nottingham (with AI)
    Newcastle
    Sussex

Just waiting for my reference to be done now

Sadley havn't acutally managed to get to any open days though, either missed the booking deadlines or couldn't get a good travel arragnement in time (although, got a campus tour @ Nottingham in a couple weeks time). Otherwise, just been going on the 'Life at' pages on the websites Although, based on distance, city etc im probably looking at Nottigham as my main atm (plus it has Crytek based there so thats always a nice dream to aim for )

Those of you who have offers, Edit and add your offers to this article :

    http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/wiki...IT_Offers_2012

It will give us lesser folk some hope, if we know what Uni's have started giving out Comp Sci Offers, and the sort of time frame in which to expect our hopeful offers as well !!!

    Good Luck

Re: Computer Science and IT applicants for 2012 Entry
I'm applying as a mature student (just! I'm 21), got average A Levels but since got some other similar level qualifications with high marks through an apprentice scheme.

    Applied for G400/401:
    York
    Leeds
    Warwick
    Bath
    Kent

Had an interview with Leeds which I felt went well and hope to get an offer any day now. Got an interview at York soon too, which I'm nervous about since I feel it will be more formal than Leeds was but still looking forward to it. Both Leeds and York seem really promising so far.

I dont think I have a chance with Warwick, they seem strict with entry requirements. I might have a chance with Bath but not heard anything. Hoping for an offer from kent soon too.
