Re: TSR Motorbike Society- take 3!Haha, yeah it's on straight, but the tires are old and cheap pure nylon jobbies...(Original post by Bathwiggle)
I ride daddy's like i ride hte sv, without caring if it breaks, and i've not managed to. Is the wheel on straight? Yeah just balancing them.
If you've got the gauge now how come you don't adjust them yourself?

Re: TSR Motorbike Society- take 3!Haven't got it yet, he'll get it when he gets paid, and i'm fed up of waiting(Original post by The Bagel Guy)

Re: TSR Motorbike Society- take 3!lol I knew it wasn't going be your cup of tea, doubt i'll most probably get it tbh as its 1964 where my current baby is 1988. Don't know how far I could go back after that.(Original post by Bathwiggle)
You're right, its not my cup of tea
If he'll show me what to do, then next time i can do it, and daddy says when he gets paid he'll buy me the carbtune
Wow nice I learnt the other day how to replace and repair carbs
quite easy really you should have no problem sorting them out

Re: TSR Motorbike Society- take 3!i was helping pet dismantle some sunday at drag racing, but if i'm with him he doesn't always give me a chance to do it myself. It seems straight forwards once i've got the tool. The bloke who's showing me doesn't know what i can/can't do on a bike and is just assuming i know nothing, which is good(Original post by Smilingsam)

You are cruel that statement proves it you know that he is going to be sad when he realises that you can do the job better than him and faster
What is that insurance quote for the trophy doesn't seem that bad apart from the troubling excess ?
(mines only £55 for this month til I get my uni fund then £350 tpft no excess) -
Re: TSR Motorbike Society- take 3!I do

I'd rather go in and have them treat me like and idiot, than assume i know more than i do. Plus he'll adapt once he realises i'm not afraid of ruining my nail varnish.(Original post by Smilingsam)

Thats FC for the year on my sv, and i think that is expensive, but i'm too tired to ring round today. The trophy i won't be named on, as i get ride anything insurance, but insurance is £56 fc.
Go compare, bikeinsurer best was £175 ith mce and £350 excess. what i'll do is ring round, then ring express and say 'so you gonna beat it like normal or am i leaving?'(Original post by The Bagel Guy)
Where's that quote from?
Wickedquotes.com has been cheapest for me 2 years running now!
Does anyone know if I have to pay a charge for changing the address on my policy, and if I have to tell my insurance the bikes been resprayed?
Normally yes to both. If the bike has changed colour you *should* notify your insurance company and also the DVLA
Wickedquotes.com is about £200 more than everyone else!Last edited by Bathwiggle; 16-08-2011 at 16:07. -
Re: TSR Motorbike Society- take 3!Guess that sounds more sensible saves them asking you to do jobs that you dont know I guess, it will be a big shock to him when he realises(Original post by Bathwiggle)

Wow thats quite cheap imo for fc although i'm only basing my opinion on the cb which is 1200 with 300 excess on FC but as a new rider. Asda are doing the cheapest insurance for me at the moment might be worth giving them a check online
Quite a good deal for the riding anything nice if you want to go on a friends bike.
btw if it works doubt you will like her, but think shes not bad tbh
Spoiler:Show

Re: TSR Motorbike Society- take 3!He shouldn't be shocked, i don't see why men shouldn't expect girls to be able to work on bikes. We just occasionally need to borrow some muscle.(Original post by Smilingsam)

I'm up to 5 years no claims now (you have to remember i'm 23) so i think it should be less. The last 4 years express have been best, but we shall see.
She's sweet. I've just never liked little bikes to ride on. (i'm a snob really
)

Re: TSR Motorbike Society- take 3!He may be surprised then, most people still have the old ideals well up here anyway they do, don't worry muscle is easily provided(Original post by Bathwiggle)

Wow 5 years thats actually really good an yeah it should be less see where you are coming from, maybe they are being stingy might be worth looking around in the future to save you some pennies.
Yeah she's a lot cuter than all the other bikes I could of had cg,dt,ybr and she only has 13599 miles on here from 1988 (amazing imo)
Iv'e never really liked the big sport bikes but some are cute, it needs character imo most just look like frames

Re: TSR Motorbike Society- take 3!The 8 ball lot did for the first ride, now they just let me carry on, and don't seem surprised at anything. Muscle isn't hard to get i know(Original post by Smilingsam)

ask lantana, she flutters her eyelashes and they all help her!
everytime i've had an off i've fixed it, rather than insurance. Not been involved with a car. I have however learnt not to ride when tired.
Give me any bike for a couple of weeks and it'll have character in the form of damage/misuse/overuse ... or girlyness if i get really bored.
i've spoken to the guy (but not pet) if i meet you friday in the morning, we head to his to get the carbs done, then if we want there is apparently a bike meet in soho, or we can head home(Original post by lantana)

Re: TSR Motorbike Society- take 3!Never heard of a Haynes? :P(Original post by Bathwiggle)
No
just on my own, or daddies. I have a pet mechanic who tells me how to do things and then i try and mess it up.

Re: TSR Motorbike Society- take 3!
Oooh motorbike thread. Baby biker here, started last year, September, still on my wee 125. I'm a 21 year old PhD student.
Anyone got any advice on chip repair? I had a bit of a spill, and one of my rear indicator stalks bent, and a big bit of metal paint came off. Its down to the metal, so I was thinking that I need to put at least some base layer on like Hammerite...is colour matching a dead loss?

quite easy really you should have no problem sorting them out
