    Corfe house 2011-12
Hi there! Is anyone going to live at Corfe House next year? (Sept 2011)
I've been allocated a room but I'm waiting to receive the formal offer from UNITE!
Does anyone have any pictures/experience to share?

I have just left there a few weeks ago. It's expensive, they charge you ridiculous fees if you break something i.e a roof tile cost £20, the woman who runs it (Delphine) is illiterate, you'll constantly get complaints about noise, there's a weekly fire alarm test on Thursdays at 11am, there's two midnight/early hours fire alarms throughout the year and you must leave the building, you get swipe cards for your doors and they constantly snap (especially when drunk) charging you £20 each time, the boiler is CONSTANTLY breaking down meaning you'll have cold showers at least 5 times a month, you'll here the person above and below having sex often, there are no cameras so when something gets smashed or broken, they charge the whole floor, you have to leave an hour before your lecture starts to get the bus (which is £7 for 10 bus rides).

On a plus side, it's your first year, get drunk, meet new people, enjoy yourself, don't worry about your constant laziness missing most 9am lectures and TAKE YOUR WASHING OUT OF THE MACHINE WHEN IT'S FINISHED RATHER THAN LEAVING IT IN THERE SO NO ONE ELSE CAN USE THE MACHINE!

Same here!!!!! I received both emails but they didn't send me the tenancy agreement! I tried to call but they are open monday-friday 8am to 8pm. And how can it be urgent if they sent me the first email on friday night at 9.30?!?!?! Anyway, I would pay my deposit to secure the room, IF I knew how much I should pay!

akshay.sawade: they DIDN'T send the room numbers, you need to log in the website and if you click on "my flatmates" or "personal statements" you'll see what's your flat and room number.

Huh? So different! For Chesil House, they sent me offer and student agreement at the same time, including all payment information bla bla bla... But I have no ID or password to log in website like you guys... How could it be so different when they're all the university hall residence :-s

I didn't get the agreement either.
However once you log in there is an option to reprint your docs or something similar. That send a duplicate of the agreement etc to my inbox. It is said the papers have to be signed and sent back before July 15 and yet they were not mailed to me.
But they did not speak about a deposit.

Confirmed my booking for Corfe house. But zoicks! Not a very flattering review there!

Oh well, atleast I'll be reminded every now and then that I need to study. Don't want to have TOO much fun :/

Anyway, I'm in Flat 504 Room A! Looking forward to it.

Well on the other hand u might be very close to the common room! so u'll be doing a lot of socialising I've been told B'mouth is the perfect place for partying! Some even told me that there are so many parties that you can't go to all of them!
