Textiles GCSE AQA Examination - 22nd June 2011
Hello! I Don't really know where Textiles should be but a lot of other recent threads have been placed here so... Here I am!

I did the GCSE exam today and it went reasonable I guess, but the weave question (with the diagrams of three different weaves) threw me off completely. I knew the first and the third but the second was completely new to me! A friend drew our teacher an example afterwards and even she seemed confused. It was lots of vertical, parallel looking zigzags with random dots all over the place.

    Did anyone get the answer?
How did you all find the exam?

I Think The Middle One Was Bonded, Im Not Sure , Thats What I Wrote. I Hated The Question About Taking Ideas From The Existing Coat Which Was Made For Cold Conditions. I didnt Know Anything To Write About Apart From The Hood , What Did You Guys Write?

I wrote bonded for the middle one too. I wrote polyester for the fake fur question so I hope fake fur is made of polyester :s Think i wrote about the tassles in the question about taking ideas from the existing coat lol Oh well....

Ah don't worry, I put Acrylic.. Which is fake wool isn't it? Does wool count as fur? Nevermind... What did you put?

Yeah I looked back in my revision guide and the picture 2 most looked like a bonded construction... I am going into school tomorrow for some Sixth Form thing so I'll catch my Textiles tecaher at break or something and ask her She was planning on getting her hands on the paper. And yeah about the design ideas from the fur coat... Apart from the picture of the old lady in that huge coat thing making me chuckle quietly to myself (how was she strong enough to stand all that?!) I was slightly perplexed. I think I remember writing about the fur (and how designers can use fur in designs or something) about the bold, white stripes and the tassles. I would really love to see the markscheme for this paper because some of the questions seamed too random!

Ask your teachers, because it may not be avaliable for the general public atm.
Teachers have a code that lets us download them..
