Chances of Getting A Training Seat In Asia?

I'm currently studying in America, but will eventually go back and complete my law degree in the UK. For various reasons I'm desperate to secure a training contract with a City firm that will let me train in Hong Kong or Tokyo for one seat and will then eventually post me out there...

Which City firms should I go for and what are my chances of being offered a permanent position in one of their offices...?

Merry Christmas,

A.

The usual suspects have offices in Asia - Ashursts, Lovells, Norton Rose, A&O, Links, Freshies, Herbies. Some US firms too - White and Case, Weils, Shearmans etc.

Good chance of scoring a seat over there if you get a TC with a firm that gives trainees overseas seats. Check Chambers & Partners Student Guide for an up-to-date list of where the firms send their trainees.
