Re: Working at Next£4.25 after tax or no tax? Im not sure if you'd be paid for the time after 11 but I'm not entry sure. You'd have to knock off your break time so minimum you should of gotten is around 8 hours?(Original post by internetstephen)
Can anyone who knows what they're talking about tell me if this is right. Basically, last Friday I worked from 2 until half 12 (my hours were 2 til 11 but because we were setting up the sale it ran late) and I've only been paid £33 which doesn't seem anywhere near enough to me, even accounting for any taxes. For example, we were paid £4.25 after tax on the induction, and even at that rate I should've been paid more than £33.
I think its best to wait for the payslip which should arrive today. I think mine is a bit off so waiting for it to see what the statement says. -
Re: Working at NextIt would be best if you did, yes.(Original post by tulpate)
On my contract it says I get paid £6 per hour and that i get paid weekly for the sales..
last week I worked 8 hours with 30 mins lunch break and I only got paid £36 I should of got paid £45 has anyone else had the same problem ? Do I need to speak to a manager?
Are you sure there's no tax or NI deductions? I don't think it'd be NI as you need to earn above £146 a week.
I've been removed from NEP, now I can't ask if they have extra shifts available. Meh, they said my contract would be 2 weeks. :|Last edited by Erratic; 20-07-2012 at 13:07. -
Re: Working at NextThink so, next Thursday(Original post by Jem_x)
Anyone know when we get paid this month? Is it 26th as usual?
In August we'll be paid on the 24th as the 26th falls on a Sunday.
Always a good idea to speak to someone, but its most likely you'll have been deducted tax, in which case you should be able to claim that back(Original post by tulpate)

Why don't you ring them and see if they have extra shifts??
On my NEP rota it says I have to work every sunday till september, but on my last shift when I clocked out out I was told by someone that they would ring me about working every sunday I'm just really confused if i'll be working or not :/ -

Re: Working at NextThey don't pay you for the time you worked after your shift finished. That's why when we were setting up the sale I just left - regardless of what my boss said(Original post by internetstephen)

Re: Working at Next
Okay so im really not sure whats going on here and im not impressed. When i applied for my job it said "permanent" also they said it was in the and on the contract i signed. They said i WILL work every Saturday, as i went to clock out on my second shift it said "Thanks for clocking out ... - you dont have any shifts for the next 2 weeks" i was like wtf. I went into the store and asked if i could check my rotar, it wouldn't let me clock in, then they checked on the paper rotar at the desk. I wasn't on. They said to ring the manager later that day as he was on his break.. i rang and explained and he said "oh, its probably because your a temp" i told him i signed a permanent contract and that i was permanent and told him the hours i normally work, he said to come in on my shift and he'll 'sort it' i am worried i am basically not going to be able to work because i got tricked into thinking i was permanent when i was really just being used. Do i have a legal right to work my hours i signed upto? they still havent told me the NEP im really not happy with this, ive only done 2 shifts ffs.
