Re: pharmacy applicants 2012for pharmacy, then bath is the better out of the lot. it always finishes above manchester, kings and cardiff in the pharmacy league tables. HOWEVER, manchester and kings are more prestigious, hence why they get loads of applicants too.. go with where you feel you enjoyed yourself because they are all fantastic unis....(Original post by lovexmusic23)
got all my offers already! which uni is the best for pharmacy? is king's college good? or manchester? or?
Bath AAB
Belfast ABB
Cardiff AAB
King's College AAB
Manchester ABB -
Re: pharmacy applicants 2012I so should have asked you opinion on Pharmacy uni before I applied to Bath, you clearly know your stuff!(Original post by James A)

Re: pharmacy applicants 2012You and I are in the same position literally! I have a feeling UCL won't give me an offer(Original post by Freiheit)
Yes its my first choice, if not then it will have to be Kings but I like UCLsop much more.
It really sucks to have to wait so long.

Re: pharmacy applicants 2012It's a very long story!(Original post by James A)
why what's wrong with Bath?
Simply: The open day that we had to go to...The lecturer was so damn rude, unbelievable. Came to asking questions "Errr sorry I have to go, if you have questions ask the students..."
I think he was forced to do the lecture but still...Just really unprofessional. Then the tour of the Pharmacy school. The pharmacy dept was closed...So they showed us their gym instead, you know we're just here to look at the pharmacy dept but no. The gym is a good compromise??
Waste of a journey, people were complaining to the students about the lecturer (head of admissions for their pharmacy course)
.

Isn't top for Pharmacy and a top uni overall
okay I got ya...just read ur post above -
Re: pharmacy applicants 2012oh right, if you could tour the rest of the pharmacy dept apart from the teaching labs, then that is acceptable but to not be shown the actual pharmacy department is plain stupid. Whoever organised that day for you needs to go on the firing line!(Original post by Doctor.)

Re: pharmacy applicants 2012It's hard to maintain hopeful, the worst part thing is knowing that we can achieve the grade requirements but still may not get an offer.(Original post by FunkeyMunkey)

Re: pharmacy applicants 2012I had the exact same problems when I went for my interview at Bath. Even though my parents thought the talk at the beginning was informative on applying to uni and all about the course, that bloke had to rush off! Plus, the students that showed us round seemed to not have left the pharmacy department ever! I asked one if all of the accommodation was self catered, and she said "no, none of our rooms are self catered" clearly she did not know the difference between catered and self catered as another parent told me that it was all self catering! But they were all very nice.(Original post by Doctor.)

Plus when I asked if we could look around the pharmacy department, apparently they were all in use!
How long did they take to get back in touch with you after your interview? Mine isn't looking very promising! I went on the 28th of Feb and haven't heard back yet! -
Re: pharmacy applicants 2012That's not surprising considering lectures and practicals still go on..... was this on a wednesday you went?(Original post by hollybanolly)

Agreed they students didn't know much...My dad was asking questions and the guy that just ended up not answering the real question
. They took us directly to their sport centre... Everyone was like, wtf? We don't care about this stuff...
the guy that showed us around was trying to make the best of a bad situation so I don't blame them, it was down to the organisers to get it sorted! Evidently they failed at that.
The Pharmacy dept was closed for us
It's really just made me have a negative opinion of their entire course and university. If they fail to let us see where we will be working, why the hell would I even consider the university? lol
It was badly organised and I will reject my offer so maybe they'll give you a place?

Re: pharmacy applicants 2012If they're in use that's fine, but a quick walk past the rooms would have been nice so we can just have an insight of how big their facilities are etc(Original post by James A)
