There aren't many unis that offer Forensic Psychology as undergrad.If you do some research you'll find that that the only way into Forensic Psychology at the moment,according to BPS is to do an accredited undergrad degree then a masters in Forensic Psych,or to do a degree in another subject with a certain amount of psychology,or an unacredited course and then do a conversion and then the masters.

Given that you have said twice about 'forensic' and assuming that means more science maybe you should do more research and find out what forensic actually means and what a forensic psychologist is.

I'm planning to be a forensic psych btw

To be honest I have no idea, but most people will advise you to do a GENERAL psychology degree first and then specialise later. If your degree is not BPS accredited then you cannot progress as far anyway. Note none of the top 10-20 universities offer anything other than standard "Psychology" indicating that this is the best route to take.

If you feel strongly then of course do what you want, I was merely expressing the route that I would recommend and which I feel is the best approach good luck whatever you decide.

I applied to cambridge (pps), York, Sheffield, Birmingham and UCL last four pure psych. I don't know whether its better to do a pure psychology degree, if anything check to see if you can do forensic psychology modules on a normal psychology degree if you need to fill in the 4 other application spaces.

Forensic Psychology is a very very difficult and competitive field to get in to. I would advise you to do your research but also consider back up options. I had a careers talk by a forensic psychologist who has a position in a prison. She said they have cut jobs so that there is now only one per prison and you are basically waiting for someone to retire/die/quit. Harsh but (unfortunately) true.

Also, all BPS courses require you to study in a scientific manner. There is absolutely no avoiding it (unless you go for a non accredited course). If you are struggling with science (biology in particular) you may well find yourself struggling with a good chunk of the course. If, however, you enjoy sciences but just have a lack of experience with them then you may well be fine. Motivation is a very big part of success at Uni so enjoyment of studying is key.
