Need a 5th choice for French & Portuguese, one of the following: Manchester, Birmingham, Southampton, Bristol. Any recommendations? I've heard Bristol's language department is quite poor (with very few contact hours) but I don't want to make any presumptions.
    Manchester defo!

Bristol's department seemed good when I visited. I wouldn't care about contact hours with the amazing multimedia language centre they have. With a cinema!

Also, how much literature was in the KCL course? I'm thinking of applying there!

This is quite useful even though I disagree with pretty much every single thing on there. Hated Durham :P

Do you know where I can find a list of modules offered by Edinburgh?

Can't give you advice about Spanish but French has an average amount of literature. Lit heavy in the 2nd year (although I think it can be avoided if you're not particularly interested in it) but in the 4th year you'll have a much broader range of options. The 1st year is half language and half literature.

Thanks! That's fine, I don't mind doing it for the first year, but in the 2nd year I'd like to diversify a bit more

    Hehe, each to their own

Yep, go to http://www.star.euclid.ed.ac.uk/ipp/cx_subindex.htm and click on your subject/course.

There is a list of modules online, but for some reason I can't get onto the KCL site

From what I remember, there's a 'normal' amount... not sure what's going on with their website, or if it's my internet

    Bien sur

If you type into google: 'King's College French' or 'King's College <insert subject here>', it should come up with the subject page. From there, you're looking for 'Undergraduate' and then onto course programmes/structure? From there I think you should be able to see the modules offered.

That's roughly what I remember from it
