say i were to do an LLB at a very good law school such as lse, ucl, durham bristol, etc. would i need a first at those schools? im sure its extremely difficult to do so. but what exaactly does it take?
It just depends where you want to do you LLM. In Oxford (where I teach) the competition for places on the BCL (our LLM equivalent) is such that even a predicted first is no guarantee. We have many more applicants with predicted firsts than we have places. But many other LLMs are much less competitive and I am sure some of them allow in some high 2.1s. (Would you really want to do an LLM if it were so uncompetititive as to let in low 2.1s?)
