Re: Legoland
My brother worked in Food and Beverage there for a few years when he was in Sixth Form. I'm thinking about applying, like you, for work in the holidays.
He quite enjoyed working there - the conditions were good , there is a nice canteen etc. The perks are O.K. he got a free Merlin Magic Pass that gave 20 free entries to any Merlin attraction. The pay isn't particularly good (around £6.00 per hour from what I've looked at) but it does increase a little if you stay with the company.
My brother advises against Grounds Clearing. It isn't a particularly nice area to work in and the pay is the same as other areas. The job description on the website is fairly thorough but cleaning toilets, litter picking etc. don't appeal much to me. I did my work experience at Legoland in Admissions which was pretty good - dull but fairly easy and low pressure.
The only problem I am having is the hours. I don't really want to commit to full time in the holidays but the only part time vacancies they seem to offer are All Season positions which I can't do because I will be in Sixth Form. There are positions in Retail and Admissions for Sat & Sun & Holidays but apparently working the whole weekend is very difficult in Sixth Form. -
Re: LegolandI applied in June for that position but have nothing back from them since the auto response email after submitting my application.(Original post by GeekyNick)
I have just applied for a full time position over the summer holidays in Food and Beverage. You can fill the whole application in online.
Is it normal to wait this long? or should I have heard from them by now? I know that the next and final stage is the assessment centre. -
Re: LegolandI applied at the start of July and I haven't heard anything either. I'm afraid though I don't really know what is "normal". You can log on to their website https://www.careers.legoland.gtios.com/Logon.asp and check the status of your application.(Original post by cjayp33)

The emails I got say to " look out for an e-mail from LEGOLAND Windsor informing you of the progress of your application" so I would expect an email at some stage even if you aren't successful. -
Re: Legoland
Thanks for this.
I am over 18 so i should have no problem with that.
What position did you apply for may I ask? as that is a very quick turnaround indeed to get email saying you have got through to the assessment centre and whatever it entails.
I hope it is another wait and it has not been done yet (as my status online still says my application has been submitted and is under consideration) as i notice that the vacancy i applied for, is no longer available on the vacancy list, but it was there yesterday, so i can only assume/hope they are short-listing now. -
Re: Legoland
Thank you for this.
I am glad to hear the assessment centre is good and not bad and if i may ask, what sort of stuff apart from interview/show and tell your object? do you do?
It gives me more hope knowing they run it three times a day, and the fact that people had applied months back and only just got one now, even more hope. I am also hoping that following the auto generated email (end of june) i do get an email updating me about my status where good or bad or online on there system. -
Re: Legoland
I wish I could help, but I got a rejection email sayng
Unfortunately the departments for which you applied for no longer have positions available. Your application will be kept on the system until the end of the season etc etc
so I don't know.
It is also worth mentioning that there are no summer jobs (which I applied for) are all summer vacancies have gone, so must be filled. -
Re: Legoland
Hi guys,
I worked there last year and also working there this year basically the assessment centre is fine, you go there they sit you down and watch you with the people on your table.
Last year we had to take one thing that meant something to us and explain it etc then we had to do a few team building exercises. From here they then deciede who they want to one on one interview and do a interview with you.
It really is nothing to worry about. Keep trying for a job throughout the season as some people leave half way through or get relived of the job etc
Any more questions just ask -
Re: LegolandI can't because the rejection email says please don't submit more then one application, as the original one (in my case summer jobs) stays on file to end of season.(Original post by Eastie90)

It also says that if any vacancies arise latter in the season, the department managers will be touch, so what I would to know is does this happen? and if so does that mean you automatically go through to the assessment centre or what?Last edited by cjayp33; 28-02-2012 at 11:02. -
Re: LegolandThats ok, not to worry.(Original post by Eastie90)
I would assume so, to be honest I dont really know. At the moment we are training old and new employees but I joined half way through the year/season last year so you never know.
Im sorry I cant be of any help
So you work for Legoland then? as my rejection email came from Martin Green
The fact that you joined halfway through the season/year last year gives me hope. Although saying that I did get generic emails last year saying we need people to work for the rest of the season/october half term (but was at uni so could not) which is sort if contacting you that there are vacancies even if they were not specified or from the department managers,
