Psychology conferences (for not-uni students)

I really want to attend some of those conferences on psychology. They sound really interesting and I don't mind paying the conference fees... Only thing is, I doubt that these conferences are allowed to admit secondary school students. If I contacted them do you think this could be an option, or does anyone know something of the sort which would be for... all ages? :s-smilie:

Thanks.
As long as you can cough up, it's open to you. They're ****ing extortionate though, I don't know why you'd bother. Just go read their papers.

Apparently there's a three-day, free conference (http://cognitio.uqam.ca/2011/) starting tomorrow. Not sure if they would let me attend. It's a 6-hour drive away, but... I have nothing to do until Wednesday anyway.

If it floats your boat, why not, I guess.

I'd be too embarressed/awkward to attend. I'm not sure how much it would help, but yeh like Godspeed said It would be equally good to go read some psychology papers. Here's one on social congition: http://goo.gl/xSyA7 . For oxford they ask you to read these in interviews and tell them what the aim of the study is, how the conclusion is supported by the evidence... etc.

I emailed the coordinator of the conference... he said someone my age was allowed to attend. I wouldn't really mind being there, but I decided not to attend though as it is rather far away. I'd have to take a train to Toronto, another train to Montreal, stay for about 3 hours, then leave again...

Anyway, yep I've been doing that. I have a 'PS' folder full of journals I saved to read, from the BPS and various other sources.

Yes, I heard that about the interviews - as in they show you some graphs and ask you to analyse them. So did you do something of the sort? As I mentioned in the other thread I'll be doing psych & philosophy so will that sort of thing still be part of the interview...?
