Bit of a strange one, considering the phone is like 5 years old, but can anyone point me in the direction of a reliable site to unlock the phone for free, if possible?

I unlocked my Orange San Francisco no problem, but need the other to put an international sim card in.

Any help would be appreciated!

I'm not 100% certain this is true but I was told that Sony phones can only be unlocked by cable. Any other TSRers shed any light on that rumour?

Oh god, it's been years since I unlocked my k800i
SF is easy compared to the k800i. I think I used a program called SE Tools. Google it.

And I remember needing to use the USB cable and putting the k800i in a certain mode by holding certain keys while I turned on the phone or something like that. It'll be in SE Tools' readme no doubt.

Unless you've changed it, the default should be 0000 I think.

Ah crap, after googling for a while, this seems to be the only way. Don't have my cable with me (in Paris at the moment). Oh well, guess my normal sim is going to go into that one, and I'll use my newer phone with the new sim.

Man you got me on a nostalgia ride. I remember my good ol' k800i.

I dropped it during a semi-drunken haze, causing the screen to become permanently turquoise, with the text/icons almost impossible to see. I continued to use it for another 9 months or so.

Not too different to how my beloved K800i met it's end. Dropped it down the toilet whilst having a piss when drunk.

Absolutely gutted.

I bought my K800i in desperation after my 6230i was water-damaged, and was my faithful companion until I got the iPhone shortly after the App Store launched. I sold the K800i for about £40 online which I was very pleased with!
