Help with sourcework
Hi im a little concerned about my AS Level SOurcework for the NAzi Germany module. I cant work out exactly what extra to write in order to push my mark up from B+ to an A partiuclarly for the source comparison. I know to cover superficial differences between the sources and then analyse their usefulness and reliability as evidence by covering the author's motive etc. I do this but stil cant get an A. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Patrick -
Are you actually COMPARING the sources. That is writing about one, then the other, then the first again etc all the way through.
You could write a brilliant answer but the mark schemes are very crude on this point, to get an A you MUST structure the question this way.
Apart from this all I can recommend is download the specifications and mark schemes and practice mark targetting.. -
Get a mark scheme from the board's website. Then, once you have written the answer, or as you go, tick of each of the main points - these aren't like those ICT mark schemes that actually make no sense, they are quite helpful and before my exam I made sure I had annotated them so I knew what to expect.
Good luck with the exam! -
the structure i used last year was
1 paragraph on their similarities and inc 1/2 developed explanation and in this write why they are similar hence the "context". for example hitler at the nuremberg rallies is clearly trying to appease the party faithful however in source B due to the nature etc etc
then para on differences and why these are different
so its basically how and why for each
i noticed in my exam last yr it was very hard to find a sim btw the sources- though sometimes it's the most basic and obvious thing that you do not think of.
helped me get an A, hope it helps you too,.
1 final thing try to write in a straightforward manner, by this i mean sometimes i try to get a little too fancy with words and loose the main jist of my argument.
