Re: Is the whole emo fad over yet?I don't mind the indie or vintage look but people need to stop wearing the look all of time and ruining it. The look is so drained now it's as common as muck.(Original post by oli_G)
Paha, real indies are actually really cool. Like I was at a local gig the other day and there were loads of 'real' idies there. The windies with their chinos and lumberjack shirts really ****ing annoy me for ruining the fashion. -

I swear it's the TopShop era now. All the little kiddies have chinos and stuff. It's wierd...
I was walking through town and kept seeing little kids, maybe 12 or 13 years old, with deck shoes and chinos

Re: Is the whole emo fad over yet?We do chinos, find a non-uniformed 6th form that doesn't and I'll be surprised, we don't however do too many lumberjack shirts, we do print tees and boat shoes/espadrilles, the occasional wacky print, lumberjack shirts are a bit mainstream for us in York, also they just wash in with all the other checks going on, go Aztec or go home for this season.(Original post by oli_G)

Re: Is the whole emo fad over yet?Yeah its dead/dying, however there are some still clinging on like limpets, refusing to let go. The new fad is the "indie" look.(Original post by NiamhBurns)
When I started secondary school in 2006 the whole stupid emo look was a big thing, well in my school anyway. A lot of girls in the year above were obsessed with bands like My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, 30 Seconds to Mars, bands like that.
Come 2008 the whole thing died, albeit a few loners were left behind stuck with the stupid thing. But now in 2011, do you think the whole thing is completely dead??? Now when I'm in town and I spot all the old emos, they're all wearing uggs with Liverpool tracksuits and look fat...
As for those bands, I think most people are over them, but some of the kids who never went through the emo stage at my school began listening to them, although I wouldn't say 30stm was exclusive to emos.
Another reason people may be less obsessed with Fall Out Boy could be because they broke up a year or two ago. -
Re: Is the whole emo fad over yet?Hmm. Don't get me wrong I actually quite like some 'indie' fashion. It's just annnoying how many people wear those clothes just to pretend to be something they're not - this is common where I live.(Original post by Wattsy)

Re: Is the whole emo fad over yet?I know. You've summed up what I was trying to say. +REP(Original post by maskofsanity)
It's quite ironic how indie is now mainstream. -
Re: Is the whole emo fad over yet?Haha, this is basically a cross section of my 6th form, however my chinos are purple so that must make me positively indie(Original post by Jono404)
Yeah it ended years ago. Damn shame, emo girls were hot as ****. And chinos are ****ing lame, I've been saying this for ages but this pic from the fashion forum cemented this in my mind.

Re: Is the whole emo fad over yet?it's obvious emos have evolved into indie kids.(Original post by Nightstar-27)
Na some of them still exist. A lot of them have toned it down a little or evolved into something else. -
Re: Is the whole emo fad over yet?Could you tell me what was hot about emo girls? I've heard it from so many guys but they've never given an explanation.(Original post by Jono404)

Re: Is the whole emo fad over yet?
Stand still long enough and fashion comes back around and kicks you in the backside.
Chinos were in fashion when I was at school. I just hope Naf Naf jackets and baggy back-to-front jeans don't make a come back otherwise it means Kris Kross are just around the corner for a comeback.
Aghhh. -
Re: Is the whole emo fad over yet?I dunno really, I think it's because they looked sort of innocent on the one hand but then at the same time, pretty up for it and like they'd be brilliant in bed. Excessive piercings or tats is a bit much but in moderation it can be hot.(Original post by TheHyacinthGirl)

Re: Is the whole emo fad over yet?st helens is a sh*t hole though lets face it, your either a emo or a bad wool if you live there!(Original post by Martyn*)
In St Helens there is currently an Emo revival. They're coming out in their droves from the colleges and campuses. They even have their own "weed shops".
