Do I need a graphics calculator as a maths student? I would have thought so but just making sure.
    (Original post by Meteorshower)
Absolutely not. I don't think you're even allowed calculators in exams.

If you have one feel free to take it with you I guess but i've definitely never needed one. If anything it's a probably a hindrance, because you can use it as a crutch for visualising functions you should be able to anyway.
Meteorshower is correct, no graphic calculators can be taken into exams. But your typical scientific calculator is allowed. But if you're ever in doubt, just ask your tutor/lecturers.

Well that was the most stressful morning of my life.
I had an AAA offer to study History and checked my results this morning - A*AB with the B in History (2 UMS off an A) and because I got my results at 7am and ucas track didn't open until about 7.45, I was sat there for 45 minutes in tears thinking I hadn't got in, preparing to send an email asking for a priority remark and then ring up and beg. Finally checked track, expecting to see the worst and what do I see?

"Congratulations! Your place at University of St Andrews (S36) to study History (V100) has been confirmed"

    OH. MY. GOD.
I cannot even begin to explain how happy I am.
Still getting that History remark though :P
See you all in September I guess!

    Congrats!
When I joined they sent out emails before results day basically saying "If you haven't met the offer, please don't ring us, you haven't got in". I'm guessing the new rules (allowing unlimited AAB+ students) has changed things

What's the point? They accepted you, this would just be a waste of money.

It's more of a personal thing now. I was predicted an A*, I'd got close to full marks in every mock and practice essay I'd done, it's not really about getting in to uni for me, I just know that I'll regret it if I don't. I know that I was capable of getting at least an A and considering I was only 2 UMS off, if it doesn't go up and I have to pay the money then at least I'll know.

You'll get your entrant information within a week, accommodation might take a week or so longer.
