Re: Upcoming changes to Health and Relationships forumsThen don't post.(Original post by Yawn11)
Ahh come on, the moderation is harsh enough.
I get like a minimum of 10points for the most trivial things.

Re: Upcoming changes to Health and Relationships forumsToo right, a multi-page thread of mine was deleted last night with 8 warning points. I believe H&R benefited from the lively debate immensely..(Original post by Yawn11)

Re: Upcoming changes to Health and Relationships forumsH&R is not going to become a dead forum.
Well you would have been in the minority. If you were in the majority we wouldn't have implemented these changes. Sadly we can' t please everyone.Oh yeah? I filled in the survey and I'm pretty darn tootin sure I didn't suggest anything like the plans you've drawn up. -
Re: Upcoming changes to Health and Relationships forumsBetter to be a 'trolling mess' than a sturgid doldrum of words.(Original post by Aj12)
Rather than the trolling mess it is now lol.
Seems partly a good idea I suppose. -
Re: Upcoming changes to Health and Relationships forums
It's just gonna be a dry forum with repititive threads and responses.
Yes, chances are it will be a dead forum, most people don't care about the issues of strangers unless they're slightly more intriguing. What's gonna happen is a great deal of threads will simply be ignored.
Individuals like myself, tend to get warned/banned ironically, for bringing attention to those threads. It's my opinion that the majority do so through comic relief.
But what ever, mods are gonna mod. Half of you are just a replica of the guy in my second spoiler. -
Re: Upcoming changes to Health and Relationships forumsWith valuable and contributive responses I might add.(Original post by Yawn11)

Ignored by those whose only purpose in H&R is to spam for rep I imagine.Yes, chances are it will be a dead forum, most people don't care about the issues of strangers unless they're slightly more intriguing. What's gonna happen is a great deal of threads will simply be ignored.
For bringing attention in all the wrong ways, obviously.Individuals like myself, tend to get warned/banned ironically, for bringing attention to those threads. It's my opinion that the majority do so through comic relief.

Re: Upcoming changes to Health and Relationships forums
If the mods didn't become more strict about what can be written where, then it would go down the pan. Its like saying ''yeah you can talk about religion in the religion forum but it doesnt matter if theres a few music threads in there.. because then every sub forum will become one giant merged discussion forum which will put people off because they wouldn't be able to go look at something specific.

Re: Upcoming changes to Health and Relationships forumsHere are some responses that our members gave in response to a question about people posting insulting responses:(Original post by TheLouisVuittonDon)
Members wanted these changes? I highly doubt it. H & R is so popular because of the entertainment of certain threads, you take away people who aren't completely serious and then you have a **** forum.
Spoiler:ShowBetter moderation (more proactive please)
More clear rules.
all insulting or offensive or unhelpful posts should be deleted by mods and given 10 warning points. the reason nasty posts in HR should be given more warning points than any other forum is because of the sensitive nature of some of the posts and threads a nasty response could put people off of posting and could really hurt someone. especially if they were already very depressed they might kill themselves or something if peopel post someonthign really nasty to them.
There really isn't much you can do to stop the way some posters behave- the only thing to do would be stricter rules, closer moderation and banning people from the forum but given the scale of the problem this probably wouldn't solve it.
Deletion of obvious troll, abusive, rude and unhelpful responses ASAP with the poster being warned or banned. Some very serious issues are dealt with in H&R and it should be taken deadly seriously. More H&R mods and it given special attention by the super mods. I'd suggest pre-moderating absolutely everything going in there, but that would be far far too much work and would slow down legitimate posts and responses.
Get those posts deleted, and fairly quickly after they are made. I suppose part of the problem is that if other people think these sorts of posts are ok then they would make similar posts themselves.
Prevent specific people from going on the forum. If someone continuously posts unhelpful/mean things, a possible temp ban from the forum might be good.
Quicker mod responses and harsher punishments for troll responses.
This is far from all the responses we received, but most of them are like this. -
Re: Upcoming changes to Health and Relationships forumsAt least the people who need help are going to have more of a chance of getting it now.(Original post by Colour Me Pretty)
H&R is going to become so dull. -
Re: Upcoming changes to Health and Relationships forumsTrue, but I will miss the lulz of it.(Original post by insignificant)
At least the people who need help are going to have more of a chance of getting it now. -
Re: Upcoming changes to Health and Relationships forumsIt's not really funny to find it funny when people are taking the piss out of people who have genuine problems and need help.(Original post by Colour Me Pretty)
True, but I will miss the lulz of it. -
Re: Upcoming changes to Health and Relationships forumsCould you create a section specifically for trolls? They can ply their trade there, we can be amused by it, and it wouldn't clog up section for those with genuine problems. Although the trolls might just stick to the supposedly genuine section... anyway, a thought.(Original post by fleur de lis)
Because the majority of images being posted were spam. -
Re: Upcoming changes to Health and Relationships forumsYou have chat, where as long as a thread is not offensive, you can post more troll-y threads.(Original post by Planar)
