    Still not seeing much difference
    I'll just keep at it and keep my fingers crossed for change!
    Definitely don't give up! How often are you weighing yourself? I find if I do that too often I get disheartened because it's so hard to see the changes when you weigh yourself every day. So now I'm only weighing in officially every fortnight(!)
    If you've been doing more exercise, and not seeing any changes from that, my advice would be drink a heckload of water and you might see a difference in a few days. There's some science-y stuff behind that but I don't understand it enough to be able to explain it to you, haha!

    I've been weighing myself at the gym every fortnight
    I've cut out sugar (other than natural sugars) from my diet, and I've switched to brown rice, wholegrain pasta, wholemeal bread etc, as well as eating less carbs all together!
    I've been doing this:

    Monday-Gym, cardio + weights, 1hr 15mins
    Tuesday- 1hr walk
    Wednesday-2X 15 min runs
    Thursday-40 min swim
    Friday-Gym, cardio + weights, 1hr 15mins
    Saturday-2X 15 min runs
    Sunday-Rest

    I've been drinking quite a bit of water too, but I guess I could be drinking more xD

    That's a really good exercise routine! Nice and varied - I should take a leaf out of your book methinks!
    If you're not seeing much change it may be to do with the total amount of calories you're netting. Sometimes you actually have to eat a surprising amount more in order to lose weight. If you're not netting 1200 minimum AFTER you've subtracted all your exercise calories, then maybe think about eating a bit more for a few days and seeing if there's any difference. You're eating all the right kinds of things though so just keep plodding on!

    Just weighed myself this morning and I'm down to 15st 2lb. So that means I've lost 12lb since I posted on here a few weeks ago, and 16lb in total since i started c25k. I'm really pleased so far, and I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything which is good
    Keep up the good work, it sounds like you're doing brilliantly x

    I read that if you vary it, it stops your body from becoming too accustomed to one form of exercise! I'm still a little red faced about weights in the gym though haha
    I will definitely keep at it! It takes time, and yes, I am one very impatient person!

    Things that jump out at me as being probably some of the better choices (out of a fairly bad bunch) are:
    - The Italian style chicken (grilled, lots of veggies, and you could maybe ask for the sauce on the side then control how much you have);
    - The penne arrabbiata (plain pasta, tomato sauce, spinach - all good and I'll guess low-ish in calories);
    - The channa daal curry (veggies!);
    - The moroccan chicken salad (looks okay and you can ask for the dressing on the side);
    - The FLT wrap looks good too (wraps are better than bread, veg is good, falafel is YUM)...

    OR you could just choose whatever the hell you want, but eat it slowly, listen to your body and stop when you're full. Don't worry about leaving food on your plate as most places these days give you enough on your plate at the beginning to feed a whole family! At least that's the impression I've got when eating out recently...
    Thank you I think I'll have either the Italian or Moroccan chicken options depending on how I feel on the day. Some of the stuff on that menu is just so ridiculous, I was expecting to find something light and healthy under "Fish" but it's all breaded stuff or with loads of mash

    I'm going on Monday for a fun day out at the o2 with 50% off Slug and Lettuce and also going to watch two films for £3! Both with a Sky Movies promotion one is free and one is £3 and I get free popcorn but I never have popcorn at the cinema because it seems such a waste of calories when I don't really love popcorn! I think I'll give it away

    Hey miss, how was the gym?
    Hiya,

    Gym was really good thanks. In the end I did my weights before I went and then did 1 hr 10 mins cardio. I kept it nice and easy for the most part but then I couldn't resist and had a 10 min run on the treadmill near the end of my workout. Quick swim so all in all a good day with the gym.

    However, I have literally just eaten my "lunch" because I had to take my car to get repaired and then had a big faff with the courtesy car. What was meant to be a 20 min job took 90 mins. It was worth the wait for my lunch at least. I had two wholewheat wraps filled with a tin of tuna mixed with a chopped pepper and a light sprinkle of low fat cheese. I threw it in the oven for 20 mins to see what happened and it was delicious. Never had tuna and cheese together before. I have suddenly become rather keen on cheese the past few months. The only thing I forgot to add was onion but I'll remember next time x

    What's the verdict on dried fruits? I've got my hands on a pack of unsweetened dried apricots....are they healthy?

    Be careful with dried apricots. I ate two packets one day and, to put it nicely, had an upset stomach for the following 3 days teamed with horrible heartburn...

    I think it's fine as long as they don't have added sugar/sweeteners. I like the Tropical Wholefoods range in Holland & Barrett and some health food shops sell them too. The do banana, mango and pineapple dried fruit that don't have any additives and are sun-dried/baked I'm sure. They're about £1.80 - £2 a bag but trust me they're delicious and worth every penny. Trouble with me is I'll eat a whole bag in one sitting haha. They are very chewy and tasty so quite filling really....I'm just greedy haha x

    I'm fine with them I used to eat them allll the time, then figured that they may actually be bad for me as they were sweetened ones! lol xD

    Re: Healthy New You: Your Change For Life
    Well, my nutrition and training plans today have been savaged.

    A group of 17-18 year old girls moved into a flat in my block recently and last night they were ringing all the flat door bells and causing all kinds of noise and havoc. An hour or so later a guy turned up who reeked of booze and was obviously off his kite on drugs did the same and then squared up to me when I told him I wouldn't let him in till I knew he actually knew someone in the block. I got no sleep at all.

    Then today, I have been rushed off my feet in work. I was told at lunchtime that I had to write a report summarising the whole of the year by close of play today. There were some other cock ups that needed urgent fire fighting so the net result is that I have not yet had my morning run and my entire substenance for the whole day has been 1 double decker bar, quickly purchased from a vending machine.

    /rant

    Anyway, hopefully I will get home in a few hours and have a good de-stressing run followed by a lovely tea of chicken and rice that I prepared yesterday (intended for my lunch! today). At least I probably lost half a stone in stress today

    Even unsweetened ones are pretty much all sugar (natural sugar is still sugar!) but they are also fibrous so they are good for you but I guess you don't want to have too much if you are watching your sugar intake.

    Have you tried cauliflower rice ? As I have the same issue and this has helped me.
    I've never tried that actually. I'll look that up, thanks

    Haha, well I wish I hadn't shared that little nugget of information about my digestive intolerances.... Shutting up now...

    Went to the gym this evening for around an hour, mostly cardio but I squeezed in a few weight exercises for my bum/thighs. Very proud of myself because I managed to run on the treadmill for 10 minutes flat without stopping - this is a first for me. I think the longest I'd ever been able to run before - without dying - was around 4 minutes...

    If it makes you feel better, too many apricots have a similar effect on me.

    ----

    Ooops. Am only just about to eat dinner :/ also, think I've consumed a significant amount if my calorie intake in alcohol.

    I really need to stop drinking alcohol. I end up drinking my way through at least 1000 calories of alcohol and sugary mixers, then crave loads of fatty carb-y foods the next day when I'm hungover! I had a Cornish pasty, two sandwiches (cheese & bacon on white bread), crisps, big chocolate chip cookie, cheesey pasta bake, and another chocolate cookie...Feeling incredibly bloated and sort of heavy/lethargic!

    (Original post by Muffinz)
    EDIT: Why did I get negged for this
    Probably because you should really be consuming more like twice that number of calories! You should eat more on days that you're exercising, otherwise you'll end up breaking down muscle to fuel your body - which is never good!

    (Don't know why people neg without explaining it, especially if it's for something like this, where constructive advice would be a benefit!)
