Re: The FIFA Gaming Society
Career mode is so retarded on fifa. I got to a fifth season (mostly due to simming most games) and there was no under 22 over the rating of 70. No chance if you were championship or higher you could loan a decent player too. In my sixth season i get to the PL the first time with Sheffield Wednesday with a great bit of youth improving. I stay up finishing 15th and win the league cup. But i get sacked. Career mode is so badly made and so cheaply done it's a shame. Has the potentials, but you can tell they spent no time on it. The transfers alone are stupid. Arteta played in goal for Arsenal in one game
Bored of online, seemingly bored of career after a few days. Looks like i might trade the game in now

Re: The FIFA Gaming SocietyI think career mode is pretty well done this year, haven't noticed the youth problem, but that may be because I use Southend United, so have to rely on buying cheap players who have reached their potential. Arteta may have played in goal if all their keepers were injured or suspended (keepers seem to like getting injured training in this game.) The youth system is decent but I agree some players should be rated at least 65 before they've kicked a ball, it seems unrealistic that 80 potentials start off at 40. As for getting fired what was your league objective? Was it to avoid relegation or to finish mid table? What was your manager reputation? I failed to get promoted a couple of times even though the board wanted me to and I still stayed at the club. Cup success doesn't matter to the board, which may be slightly unrealistic, although Liverpool sacked their manager recently despite winning the FA cup, finishing high in the league is where the money is nowadays so that's what boards care about.(Original post by Gob Bluth)

Re: The FIFA Gaming SocietyI know it is the best career mode yet, but it just has too many problems with it really.(Original post by justanotherposter)

I was expected mid table and am 5 star rep. Stupid expectation after promotion anyway, and the other 2 teams that got promoted got relegated anyway! Which leads me to another point which annoys me, the same teams generally go up and down. They should make it more realistic where some teams struggle after relegation, lose players, whilst other teams can build up like Southampton and Norwich did in real life. With my quality scout i did get a keeper starting on 66 and a CB on 65 (both with potentials 85-91), but they really don't improve that much when they're in PL even when loaned out...
I was thinking and i reckon the best thing to make an interesting career was start with a League 2 side which has a bit of money, not expecting promotion, sell some players and buy a quality scout. Get loads of good youth, and then play them, and whilst they improve they will be first team going up the ranks.
I know it's a lot to ask for, but it would be nice to have a bit of realism and quality. -
Re: The FIFA Gaming Society
Well, today started well. Went 3-1 down to a guy playing as City (I was Milan) shortly into the 2nd half. I scored eight goals without reply to win 9-1. Unfortunately I still missed out on promotion by one point. Idiot of a French guy, who didn't know how to tackle, and incessessantly chatted (raging in French?) held me to a 1-1 draw.

Yes, although there's obviously a difference between Liverpool and Sheffield Wednesday and what their aspirations should be. Wednesday, a club with a great history don't get me wrong, haven't had the best of times these last fifteen or so years in particular. For them to get promoted, stay up, and win silverware (which brings a European place) in their first season back in the top flight is quite an achievement. Liverpool's League Cup win last season, having spent the money they have spent and were European champions not all that long ago, isn't a success. -
Re: The FIFA Gaming SocietyDidn't know you could somehow lose goals after you scored them. You must tell me how to do it(Original post by River85)

Exactly, no promoted team however good they might be in terms of quality should sack their manager for staying up and winning a trophy ha.(Original post by River85)

Re: The FIFA Gaming SocietyNot necessarily, when Newcastle were promoted I imagine they would have wanted to do better than just avoid relegation, and they sacked Hughton in the process to do it.(Original post by Gob Bluth)

FIFA I think just looks at all the squads in the league, ranks them based on quality and then gives you a league objective based off that, which makes sense to me, I screwed up my first 2 seasons in league 2 with Southend when I was supposed to get promoted and ended up with a good 2.5 star team by the time I went up, the board therefore expected me to get promoted again in league 1. -
Re: The FIFA Gaming SocietyNice! Maybe Casillas, Alonso or Xaviesta would fit in pretty nicely.(Original post by Darth Vader 7)
I've almost got a my Ultimate team!:

I still need to get a TOTY Ballesteros and maybe upgrade my Benzema to the 86 version. Aside from that, I think I'm done! -
Re: The FIFA Gaming SocietyCasillas isn't good in the game because he's so short. He gets caught out easily by finesse shots. That's why everyone roles with either IF or SIF Diego Lopez in goal for La Liga/Spain teams.(Original post by gunit123)

I'm looking into Alonso but then my midfield is already too defensive imo.
Don't like Xavi or Iniesta in the game at all. Much prefer Cesc over them two.
Nice team mate. Since it's a hybrid, is it even possible to make coins from games (because they're impossible to rotate)?(Original post by mau5)
Been using this team a lot lately, mainly just for tournaments. Probably the most fun side I've used though, good mix of pace, skills and longshots.

Re: The FIFA Gaming SocietyYeah, I just rotate with Russian league players. A lot of decent back up players to choose from: Danny, Bruno Alves, Arshavin, Wellington, Brystov etc.(Original post by Darth Vader 7)

I'm not sure if you've tried him but the SIF Borja Valero is well worth checking out. Was probably my favourite of the Spanish CM's I've tried. -
Re: The FIFA Gaming SocietySure thing, good to go whenever!(Original post by Darth Vader 7)
