I'm an international student from America moving to study at Newcastle University in Sept. and I'm staying in Castle Leazes. I'm wondering if there are any videos of the halls or rooms on Youtube. I used the virtual tour on the website but I those only show you so much and not the whole place. Is anyone else staying in Castle Leazes?

BTW I know Leazes is supposed to be filled with "rahs" (not a word I've heard of before I went to this site!) and it's supposed to have ****ty food but I don't mind cause I ate cafeteria food at my uni in America and didn't mind it and I'm pretty private and introverted and don't socialize too much especially with my neighbors. I'm just worried about the heat (someone told me it's very hot and the windows don't open) and the loud music.

LMAO. I can't remember if I have a video, or a photo but me and some guy I was seeing sellotaped someone's door, which was kinda funny, but I guess that's not the type of photo/video you're looking for...

I've stayed there a few times and it's not really hot, you can control the temperatures and stuff. The rooms are bigger than Ricky Road. I like them tbh.

I think its horrible there I wont lie. The whole place is really depressing. Did you not fancy somewhere like St Marys ?
