Yeah if you get 177ums at A2. So an average of 88/89 in psya3 and psya4.
    Thankyou so much

I'm doing agression, eating behaviours and gender!
We haven't even started covering any of those 3 (even though we're starting with agression). We're looking at approaches, issues and debates, and preparing presentations for those aha.
I was going to resit PSYA1 as I only got a high B in that, but I really can't be bothered

    yaya 2/3!!

We did all of that stuff last year after the June exams.. I've forgotten it all now which doesn't really help.. but at least i actually went to the lessons rather than skived like the majority of my class did... D:

Yeah I wasn't sure about resitting myself, but I had a look at the exam timetable and PSYA1 is nearly 2 weeks before any of my other Jan exams so I just thought it wouldn't hurt to try as its not likely to affect my revision for my other exams that much

We can help with each other for revision

And oooh, after our june exams we went back and we practically did all of the research methods bit in PSYA4, so we've learnt all of it already, even though our exams next june aha!

Good luck for PSYA1! What book are you planning to use for revision etc?

Ok having done some research I have compiled a list of questions my textbook believes could be asked based on my 3 subjects that im covering for paper 3 and what HASNT come up.

Biological Rhythms and sleep, Relationships & Aggression:

    Possible questions for Sleep are:

Describe and Evaluate each of the three types of Rhythms
Describe and Evaluate the different Stages of sleep and the distinction between different types of sleep
Describe and evaluate different perspectives of Restoration Theory
Describe and evaluate research that has examined how and why sleep patterns change with age

    ------------------
    Relationships:

Describe and evaluate two theories for the maintenance of relationships
Describe and evaluate two or more theories for the breakdown of romantic relationships
Explain what is meant by sexual selection in the context of human reproductive behaviour and describe and evaluate this relationship using research studies relevant to human mating behaviour.

    ------------------
    Aggression:
Describe and evaluate at least two theories of aggression
Describe and evaluate how genes may be involved in aggressive behaviour
Describe and evaluate two evolutionary reasons for the displays of aggressive group behaviour

    ----------------

These questions are based on looking at the past papers and what has come up. If it has come up as a small mark question I have tried to include it in as a possible 25 marker also.

What do people think? Whats likely on these subjects?

If we can try hedge our bets better we can hopefully try focus our learning on educated guesses on what may come up.

Has anyone heard anything from teachers etc what may come up? Any tips would be good too..

I REALLY hope its the first one for aggression, that would make my day! SLT is my favouritest theory to evaluate ever it would be a dream to get a 25 marker including that!

    Haha yes!

ooh sounds fun, I think we might have brushed on research methods a bit but i think it was just our teacher basically telling us we need to know a lot more detail about research methods for A2 I hate research methods

Thankyou! fingers crossed I am using the complete companions book, for PSYA1 and for PSYA3...

Oh! and my mum bought me a book with a blue eye on it. I don't know what the title of that one is though, it's just really heavy

what book are you using for PSYA3?

Research methods is awful for PSYA4 haha
    HATE IT.

Ooh, for AS we got given the official AQA endorsed one by school. I used it for PSYA1 and I didn't achieve a good mark, but then I bought another book with an eye on it (think its the Collins one.. but it was black) and got 95 ums.
Aah the one with the blue eye on it for A2 is also the collins one, aha yeah I checked that out at my school library and it looks a bit waffy. I'm personally using the complete companion for A2 as it seems okay and its colourful
I asked my teacher what book I should additionally use and she told me to buy
http://www.amazon.co.uk/AQA-Psycholo...295679&sr=1-13 , if i'm going for the A* grade . Think I might buy that; my teacher really advised me to buy it as all the A* students last year used that

    Okay I wrote so much ^ :L

Oh dear.. I can tell I'm going to enjoy PSYA4 then..
Yeah I like the complete companion one, its pretty and I like the double page spread format, it feels less like a textbook and more like a revision guide, but with all the content of a textbook! yay!

Oh right that looks good, I may invest in that then as I really want an A or *perhaps* an A*!! but its £45?! unless i read it wrong!

EDIT: hang on I found this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/144412336...SIN=144412336X

I think its been recently updated as its the same book but less price Also with the slight spec change, yay

Aha, hopefully it'll be worth it There's a lot of evaluation in this textbook too (checked the book out in school), so it'll be very helpful when making notes etc from both the complete companion and this, as 16marks for AO2 is a LOT!

    No problem! x

Lol its because I ordered one too!

I saw it a couple days ago but wasn't sure whether to get it but reading this discussion made me think might as well.

Some of the topics I'm finding lack a lot of evaluation so hopefully this helps

B is good enough. Why need A ? Unless that is what your degre requires. I didn't get well. I'd say aggression is the hardest out of all, what others are you choosing?

unfortunately the course I want to do requires AAB, and psychology is the subject i'm most confident in plus I think i can get an A

Oh i really like aggression I'm also doing perception and eating behaviours

my course also requires a a b. But a **** uni only requires b c c. So aiming for that one. I'm trying to pick the easiest one to revise for like relationships. Our class suppose to do eating disorder, but i'll be doing more that i can handle. What did you get for the units?

Can you do any resits to raise your grade?
Our class collectively chose the ones we found the most interesting and they are!

    I got a C in unit 1 (the one i am resitting)
and an A in unit 2

    overall B

    what about your unit scores?
