I had mine on Wednesday and got an email saying I had passed and that they'd contact me soon about the next stage.
Well done. Pretty sure you'll be the first person to get an offer.

Did they ever contact you by phone to arrange telephone interviews or the e-tray etc.

They only ever contacted me by email or through the recruitment system. I had the e-tray on Wednesday and got the above email on Friday afternoon.

I got my email saying I had passed on Friday which said they would be "in touch shortly to arrange the next step" but I haven't heard anything yet. The recruitment lady there said we were one of the first groups through the process so should hear pretty quickly.

Unfortunately I didn't get through, as with most others who fail to get through I think I did pretty well in the whole exercise but clearly not good enough.

    Hey!

Have you heard back from Deloitte?

Also, the interview day you choose (after passing online tests) is ONLY for the e-tray right? Or are there any other selection events on the same day eg. interviews/presentation?

jeeves1 - sorry to hear you didn't get through.

Krebs - I still haven't heard anything back about the interview. The e-tray day is JUST the e-tray exercise - no interview. The only way you'd be getting an interview is if you are applying for a 2011 proper job I think as there was one girl there on my day getting an interview.

Thanks xlynzx, pretty disappointing considering that many people manage to get through this stage. Deloitte don't give feedback on your application so you won't know where you've gone wrong.

Yeah but I won't be able to go state my responsibilities, goals etc on the form.

Also I'll only be back early October. Do you know when they start interviewing or is that completely dependent on the individual applicant?

    Thanks
No need to apply now! All their university presentations aren't until October. you could do all your research into the companies and start thinking about how you're going to answer the competency questions, then go to the presentation at your university in October and apply right after that, when you can write about your internship job too. I applied in mid/late October last year and was one of the earliest people, they don't start doing many assessment centres until early December.

I went to insight day last week and they said that there were only 150 vacancies nationwide. Someone asked whether they should apply now or wait until they got back from holiday as they were going to be away the whole of September, and they were advised to apply now as places go really quickly.

I definitely stand corrected then, Deloitte must be different from other firms. But if your internship ends in the next few weeks then you should definitely have time to wait until then before sending your application off. You can create an account and fill in your grades, previous work experience etc now and then just add your internship details in a few weeks and send it off.

Has anyone else got to the interview stage? I got an email on the 11th asking about my availability and I replied the same day but haven't heard anything back yet. I've just been trying to prepare for it with the competency examples etc. - not going too well lol.

Hi there, well done on passing your e-tray day and getting an interview! Have you heard back yet?

The Deloitte website says for e-tray exercises in one place:
    • Choose the most appropriate and effective action to take on the e-mails that appear in your inbox.
    • Write an e-mail communication about a particular issue in the exercise.
    • Engage in a one-to-one informal presentation and interview, based around the e-mail communication you write.

But then on another part of the website, it only mentions the first two points. So did you not have to do the presentation and interview, i.e. is it only for graduates do you think? I've also applied for the SVS!

Also, maybe a slightly stupid question, but what did you wear - business casual?

Thanks. I still haven't heard back about a date :/

If you're applying for the internship, you'll only have the first two - the emails and an email communication - no interview. One girl at my e-tray day had an interview but she was applying for a 2011 graduate position.

    Oh, that's good to hear!

I think I edited my original post just as you were replying to me .. did you dress business casual for the day?

At least you know you've passed and you're just waiting now - the longer you wait for your interview, the more time you have to prepare which is always good!

I just had smart black trousers and a blouse on. Think it's more for comfort lol.

Yeah, but I can't seem to sit down and get prep. done! At least if I had a date, I would know how little time I had haha.
