    How did everyone's exam go?

Alright I think, didn't come out nervous so I'm hoping that's a good sign!

The directed writing and the reading went well I think. The listening was OK, managed to do all the questions and then the writing was average.

    How about you?

Well the reading, translation and directed writing were absoloutely fine! Hoping to get a good mark in those, although the listening was rubbish, at most i feel i'll get 10 or 11 out of 20 and my essay for that paper was awful! I had no idea what to write about for school uniform! I got an A in my prelim without my speaking grade which is promising! and i got 25/25 for speaking so only need 45 marks for an A

    How did you find it?

Yeah first paper was a breeze! I struggled a bit with the listening, guessed at least 5 answers. Writing was okay but I didn't really know what to write and then made a crucial word order mistake in the last sentence cause I ran out of time. Can't stop thinking about it That is the one negative of being the only one to sit the exam. No beating the invigilators! Ah well. Hoping for an A1 still. AH French tomorrow then I'm done forever!!! Well, until uni anyway

Yeah I'm glad the first paper is worth more! I think i made quite a lot of mistakes in the second essay, i was just so put off by the fact we've never learned about uniform! And yeah I'm the same, there was only me and one other girl doing the exam! Wow an A1, that'd be amazing, nobody at my school's had an A (we're that hopeless) so the pressure's on me! Good luck for your results in August

You too! I got an A1 in the prelim so hopefully the exam repeats that I know exactly how you feel about the school uniform thing though. It's not something you'd expect to cover in Higher and having not done standard grade German I found it pretty difficult to know what I should write. Ah well, can't change the past.

Does anyone know where I can get Higher German materials please? I want to self-teach. Uni-run language courses are expensive.

I also need to teach myself Italian and Greek because I'm studying in Greece and Italy this summer. I just want to learn German for pleasure (and because I'd like to live in Berlin for a bit).
