Hi everyone,

I'm interested in what's attractive/unattractive to students about a career in the public sector, specifically local government. I'm compiling a report on the matter (I'm a summer research intern, about to go into my fourth year) and the opinions of students are a very important factor in my research.

I'd like to hear a number of things from you guys, specifically:

- What would attract you to a career with local government? If you find the prospect of such a career unattractive, why is that?
- How does a career in the public sector compare in your mind to one in the private? If you think that a career with the private sector would be better, why?
- How could local government make itself more attractive to both undergraduates and graduates?

Feel free to be as honest as you like. If you wouldn't like to be quoted in my report, or you would like to be quoted anonymously, please say so.

Thanks a lot in advance guys.
