My Dad recently gave me £500, but I'm not sure what to spend it on. I have an ipod touch and blackberry, otherwise I would buy myself an iphone.
I'm not asking for advice, just some ideas. What would you spend it on?

Have you got a Kindle already Amy? They're great!

By car I mean £500 of clapped-out old banger, but whatever floats your boat love.

Just think if you really need anything. Then think again if you need that or you just want it, and if you just want it then consider how useful it will be. You should be able to decide then.

If it was me though, I'd just put it in a savings account.

Id go to either The Fat Duck by Heston Blumenthal or Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester.

matched betting, arbitrage, returns to an ISA

This was pretty much going to be my answer.

You could make an awful lot of profit (risk free) on your £500 if you learned how to do so.

£500 for a hug, what says you? I could later marinate you in joy if all goes well!

Seriously though, I'd probably stock up on my cats prescription diet/renal medication. Can't think of much else I'd want to spend it on tbh...

Hahaha, don't, I realise now how dirty my username sounds.
My heart tells me more clothes and shoes.... my conscience tells me to save it for uni. :dontknow:

Take driving lessons if you can't drive.

Take a short break into europe - with £500 you can have a really nice weekend

if you know where to go and are prepared to live frugally, £500 could last you 2 maybe 2 and a half weeks.
