    Favourite Female Singer
Browsing through my music library I realise most of the artists I have are male and the girls didn't pop up that much. Is that the same with everyone else?

Anyway to the point of the thread. Post your favourite female artists.

Also who do you think is the best female singer? *waits for the 'Rebecca Black LolLOLtrolooLOROLROL!!!!!1111111 1111twelve!!' comments*

    Mine is Ella Fitzgerald

(If you genuinely do thing RB is the best female singer I apologise if I have offended you in any way )

There are loads of really good ones.......

    Current favs;

Lana Del Ray - Video Games

Jess Mills - Live for What I'd Die For
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zbmm_hXcrA0&ob=av2n

One of my all time favourites

    Kirsty Hawkshaw - Fine Day

Most trance music contains female vocals, and there are some absolutely amazing vocalists across many many different eras.

    Laura Marling is lovely:

Annette Olzon from Nightwish has an impressive voice:

And of course, their old vocalist Tarja Turunen:

Jonsu Salomaa of Indica has an interesting style:

I've also recently been getting into PJ Harvey, but I don't know her songs well enough to post a good example, sorry.

Kate Bush. Tori Amos and Alanis Morrisette's debuts were great though.

    Example: Rubberband Girl:

    Love it from 2.20 onwards.
