I'm still on track with the savings. Anymore suggestions?

Probably keep 5 k as emergency savings and than give 15 to parents and 5 to charity

I would either invest a lot of it, or start up my own business.

So, I've worked out that I'll have around £25K worth of savings when I finish university. What would you guys spend some of it / all of it on?
As a really broke student who clearly manages finances poorly, do you mind if I ask how!?

With regard to spending it? I'd probably see about something sensible first like the fees thing that people have been talking about. There's a good calculator on money saving expert, this isn't the one I used originally but the link will take you to a calculator and the right kind of area. http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/loa...ans-repay#tool

To be honest, I wouldn't need to pay off the loan as its not worthwhile to do so.

Pay off debts and a down payment on a house.

    Ah ok, thanks.

Well in that case, I'd definitely travel if you have the time and haven't done so already. I had to spend time abroad as part of my course this year and I loved it. It's an extravagance but it's a great one, do it while you're relatively free of ties in this country (a job or whatever) and you will remember it forever.

Like I said, I suck with money, but I'm definitely saving up to use what little holiday I get next year for travel.

Deary me. This is money he'll have saved himself - he hasn't won a bet or been handed it by a stranger. What a **** answer.

I'd say spend 1/2 on having some fun holidays etc, perhaps save the other half for a rainy day...

Pay off my student loan and buy a car with the remaining £15k.
Presumably you didn't want a maintainence loan then?

Personally I'd spend very little and just use when it was needed. Investing the rest.

Seriously though, the way things are heading in the world right now, you should put £10K of it into buying gold - that will probably double over the next year. Another £5K into silver - probably will treble. Buy £3K worth of non-perishable supplies. Pay for your travel ahead and try to buy things that can be traded for horse meat or potatoes for a couple of years' time when the economic crisis really starts to dig in, thanks to the wise actions of our governments in cutting everything in sight.
    paranoid much?

Most of it would definitely go towards a deposit on a house and the rest of it would be emergency savings.

I'd be boring and stick it all down as a deposit, dependant on where you are thinking of buying/working etc..

£25k would be about 33% deposit on my house, i'd pay the mortgage off over 8 years then buy somewhere else to rent out locally.

deposit for a house or small venture i will leave university with a similar sum in a dilemma myself!
Dilemma!!!!!? What planet are you on!? Not many people leave University with savings, let alone 25k's worth!

You lot don't know how lucky you are - secure your future via property.
Or if you aren't ready to buy, leave it where it is until you are!

That is possibly the most hypocritical thing any one has ever said with this in their signature:

    "Further Maths A* (95.5% average over 12 modules )"
