Paul McCartney to perform in Opening Ceremony?
Link here.
Do you think it will work? I think it could if it's done right, but I to see it to be sure. -
Re: Paul McCartney to perform in Opening Ceremony?
I think it's a bit... safe.
I mean, I'm certainly no Leona Lewis fan (don't DEGRADE me) but I actually liked her and Jimmy Page doing Whole Lotta Love and I have no idea why.
I feel as though it probably should be a mash up of British bands and songs.
Paul McCartney is a good choice, ALTHOUGH it's kinda like going to an Indian restaurant and ordering a korma. -
Re: Paul McCartney to perform in Opening Ceremony?
They were probably going to have to go for Paul - we had the Beatles, arguably one of the most influential and famous bands of all time, so it seems logical to get one of the surviving ones to do it, and I'll bet Ringo wouldn't...
The Who would be so so so much more awesome though (as you can probably tell one of my favorite bands of all time!
)...
I think Spinal Tap would be a good idea too...

Re: Paul McCartney to perform in Opening Ceremony?
Personally, don't like anything he has been involved with, I don't like his voice or the way he writes music, or the music he writes.
I think getting a mix of bands/artists from every genre would have been better cause then there would be something for everyone. If they had the right people working on it then they could have done an absolutely amazing arrangement of a song incorporating styles of music from everywhere
