Big 4 (Ernst & Young specifically) regional officgraduate pay - and after qualifying?
    Hi guys,
I might join EY as a graduate in tax in 2012 in a regional office. What sort of salary can I expect in my first year? And does the pay rise much over the three years of the training contract? Are there many bonuses etc available?

What about once qualified, will I get a significant pay rise? What to? (assuming I stay at EY, in the same office, in tax)

    Thanks guys!

You'd get a quicker response if you'd searched the forums first.

I heard its 23k for KPMG in Milton Keynes. Perhaps a couple of K higher in Tax, and if your nearer to London, another couple of K higher.

Not sure about bonuses, KPMG has bonuses after 2nd year if you do well, but don't expect that much. (10-15% if that, not sure about EY)

The pay rises by a few k every year, and then a 1/3$ increase when you qualify, I suspect.

That's a great reply, thank you. I don't think I'll get £23k, I've heard £20.5k as the starting salary for this office (Liverpool). I was more interested in the bonuses and pay rises, thank you for your information on those

If anyone else has any input it would be great, thank you

    Try this website,

and no problem, I do think Tax will get paid more than auditors though, and best of luck in your career =)

    Hey,
I've seen that site before, I've done some research in to this (both on TSR and google) - that site only shows London salaries, but it is useful to see salary progression over the years, so thank you.

I'm just curious to know what my salary would actually be now, haha!

In the regional office I'm in (in the south) the current 1st years are on £22k starting with a £1k bonus if you pass all your exams first time. Think there are yearly pay rises but not sure how much. Next years starting pay is supposed to be 22.5k though and should be 23k by 2012. Post qualificastion in our office I'm led to believe the pay is 38k but I'm sceptical about that as it seems a big jump...

    This is for audit btw...

That would be pretty much the same as KPMG Liverpool. Bonuses vary based on department, location and performance. I get my first this year

Pay rises for last year were in the region of £1,000 for Northern offices.

I'm led to believe that newly qualified salaries are around 36-38k in the Southern regional offices, and around 42-44k in London. It varies a bit depending on the service line.

Can anyone confirm this? Do these salaries include bonuses?

The 42-44 sounds about right for London Audit/Tax. That doesn't include a bonus, but I'm yet to hear of significant bonuses at big 4 (someone please correct me if I'm wrong ).
