what do you guys think, karma is it fake or real.

my personal opinion, is if i got builled for example , i would want that person who bullied me to suffer sometime in their life. But just because i want it to happen doesnt mean it will. That person might go on to have a successful career, happily married and maybe have kids.
I just think we use karma, to make ourselves feel like their is justice in the world. I wish it existed but i dont think it does.
Karma is NOT real, it's not likevthis magical force follows people dealing out good and bad things.

however, the thought of having this invisible police officer is interesting. Even if it's not real, I still like to follow it. Do good things, good things happen...do bad things, and bad things happen.

Though this may have a little truth to it. To someone who knows and believes in karma, if they do something good, they will be expecting something good and are less likely to notice all the bad things that happen in everyday life. (and vice versa).

Yeah, what goes around does come around.

Its a nice idea and I'd be quite happy to live in a world with karma but there are just far too many examples of awful people getting away scot free with their crimes while perfectly innocent people are kidnapped, tortured, murdered, raped etc....I just dont see how anyone could believe in it

Something I have got thinking about lately-something which is applicable in every single aspect of every single way that you look at things; 'the things that make or made us strong, are the things that make us weak'. Think of those people who are bullies- they dont have that spirituality and emotional intuition that you have- they're not in tune with the cosmos. they might be emotionally unvulnerable because of this, but it makes them weak in the worst possible way. You have been given insight into suffering and so you will understand other people better - im sounding corny now but in a way you have been 'enlightened'. you probably love people more deeply and care about people more and thats what life is all about- you have it and they dont. they probably hate themselves a little bit for that too.

Also sometimes you shouldn't share these views, unless you secretly want to be proved wrong and believe it a tiny bit yourself, for the same reason that atheists shouldnt try and tell monks, preists, people who have just lost a loved one their evidence for God not existing- it gives people hope and inner peace, and you have no entitlement to take that away from them. let them be happy believing some things even if it is ignorance. I'm just saying.

Hey I think it does exist. Think about it....... do you honestly think that wrong doers would always get away with their actions? No because that would create disorder in the universe. This may sound a little confusing but buddhists and hindus believe that each person has "karmic energy". So if you do something wrong, a certain amount of negative karma accumulates according to the intensity of the "evil" deed. There's now an imbalance in that person's total karmic energy which can only be balanced if that person undergoes something that will give him the exact same amount of suffering (negative karma) that he generated before.
This is a massively simplified explanation. But there is also some "parapsychological " evidence for karma and reincarnation:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reincarnation_research

Although there were no clear cut evidence from the research, it kind of disproved that there is no such thing as karma. There definately is something unusual with those children and up to now, only karma has been suggested as the most "logical" explanation.

Karma is a motivational tool, to try and convince people to do the right thing. I'd say there is a 99.9999999% chance it is not real.

The only way karma can be logically possible is if reincarnation was true.

Otherwise what about the hundreds of incredibly evil people who have lived long successful, wealthy, rich and fulfilling lives?

Secondly, why would karma exist? Surely you'd need some sort of deity to think of such a system. Unless a deity exists, I don't think karma would be likely. Considering morality can be very subjective across generations/cultures.

Once this boy was circling the pavement on his bike and throwing water balloons at this little boy, throwing insults and laughing - 5 seconds later, he fell off his bike and had to go to hospital. He broke his arm.

Trust me its true...but depends on how you look at it for example in the hindu version of karma, hindus believes that your actions in this life, will be paid for in the next life

I do. But then again Karma is a bit like God, you can't prove that it exists, just another one of those man made human concepts for human comfort imho.
