I think I'm gonna be pretty skint from my trip(s) to (and in ) Germany to afford it, tbh. Looks lovely, but the general lack of dark psy keeps me away. Sometimes it's a bitch having such picky tastes in music, hehe.

If by some stroke of luck I manage to make ****-loads of money before the end of July, I'll roll along (and set up a renegade stage playing tunes from Noise Poison Records and Parvati Records, respectively).
Indeeeeed I wish there was more dark-psy available, may suggest that for next year! I'm looking forward to having a dance at your renegade stage sometime in the future ;D How about it Nozfan, more dark psy please?

Oooo also Psy lovers, this is my favourite online radio station for psytrance, not only has it got a lot of options it's very aesthetically pleasing, didn't realise I could do stuff to the background and the radio cube till I started clicking around. Anyway, enjoy!

If you want a decent dark psy radio station, check out Triplag... http://triplag.com/ Also the radio station over at psymusic.co.uk is pretty good. My friend does a good dark psy show every Friday night for a few hours.

Freqs of Nature was sooooo incredible, btw. Europe's where it's at when it comes to psytrance festivals. It was ridiculous!

Yeah I use triplag too! And www.hirschmilch.de is good too. Glad you had a great time! Will have to check that festival out. Which country was it? I've literally just crawled through the door from Nozstock, but I think I left my legs down in the psytrance wood.... so flippin good.

Nice! Not heard of hirschmilche.de... Will have to check it out.

Yeeeee. Glad you had fun at Nozstock. Looking forward to seeing pictures when peepz start uploading them to Facebook. That ToF coppice area always looks really pretty in the pics I've seen of previous events. What was the music like there this year?

Freqs of Nature was just outside Berlin, in Tchurrrrmaneh! My friend uploaded some amazing pictures onto Facebook. The decor really was out of this world! https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...0880269&type=3 (If you cannae view them on FB, they're also at the bottom of the Freqs of Nature homepage... http://www.freqsofnature.de/en/ )

By the way, I dunno if I've whored my music to anyone on this thread yet, but I make dark psy (well, squidgy organic forest psy and fast, glitchy hi-tech psy): http://www.soundcloud.com/kodamapsy (contains a mixture of my stuff and collabs) and http://www.soundcloud.com/jotunnpsy (project with a good friend).

Atomik, Is this an example of good quality Forest psy? DJ Samsara - Somewhere out there in Nowhere? I quite like it... Got to be in a particular kind of mood though

So I've just got back from a festival in which I spent pretty much the entire 3 days and nights down at a psy-trance rave in the woods hosted by Tribe of Frog.
I hadn't really experienced much psy or goa raves before now so it was a new experience and I loved every fulippin' minute of it. I was just wondering if anyone knew any particularly good djs I could look up as I don't really know what to look for? And also, if anyone knew any particularly good places for psychedelic raves around the midlands way?

    Thanks in advance!

And If you're feeling adventurous there's I Love Techno in Belgium. I went last year and It's not really psychedelic but it's all night and they always have really good DJs there.

Glade was fantastic this year! I like the psychedelic vibe. There's so much more than just psytrance so you get to soak up the best of many underground electronic genres. I could go on and on about it!

In today's age of overpriced festivals it seems like a good price too.

The one thing I didn't agree with was the overpriced food and drinks and extras like hot tubs, etc.

Probs just broke asses like me being jealous!

Hah, dude! A track from one of my projects is in that mix (track 11: Jötunn - 'Troll Epidemic')!! DJ Samsara is the guy who released it, hehe. Met him for the first time at Freqs of Nature in Germany. Proper cool guy.

But yeah, to answer your question, I'd say that mix was a good example of forest psy. If you want more experimental and 'organic' stuff, check out Yggdrasil Records. Their 'Yggdrasounds I' and 'Yggdrasounds II' compilations are second-to-none.

Creamfields is a lot of commercial twaddle for fans of generic cheese. I'm not a huge fan of the tuneage at Glade but they definitely keep it real.

To be honest, there are countless better events (that actually play psychedelic music :P ) in London and the surrounding areas. Would make journeying to Belgium pretty pointless unless you were there for the techno, innit. (Not having a go, like, but this thread is to do with psytrance events and not techno, hehe.)

By the way, gypsyclimber, there's a night called Kanyini in Birmingham that have been putting on cosy psytrance nights. All fluffy stuff, though - nothing in the way of dark psy! They look like nice parties, though.

Here are some pictures of Freqs of Nature. There was a lot more to the festi than just the dance floors, but these should sum up how utterly awesome the event was. (Only, like, 40 Euros in advance and 80 Euros at the gate! 5 days of consistent music at eardrum-shattering volumes as well. )

I wanna be back there SO badly!!!!

Will definitely have to check that out in the future - and yep, I've heard about Kanyini, may try and make the next party. Will have to try and influence a bit of dark psy in there Anyone else been to any psy parties this summer, or got any planned?

Wow, those photos really are beautiful.

I havent been able to afford any festivals yet this summer, though i will blatantly be going to Alchemy, which is undoubtedly the best festie i have been to so far.

Going to my first psy party for a while in a couple of weeks too, gonna be fab

I know theres a lot of hate for infected in the psy community, but they are excellent.

I have yet to go to Alchemy! Was going to go last year and then was unable due to family things. My friends went and said it was excellent though. What party have you got coming up?

Yes it is fantastic. I kind of felt like i stepped back in time, because it was full of lots of free people. Beyond what you get at Glastonbury really. I would say to definitely put it on your list for September if you have the dough.

On Aug 11th my gang are having a bit of a day out, out to tea, a roller disco then a forest party. There are three possibilities going on the art of psychedelia, hakuna matata and a charty party. I wanna go to the charity one because SETI are playing (to be confirmed though) but we have just agreed to go to the one nearest to us when we find out the location.

I am rather excited because i got into psy properly last summer, and have tried to go to various forest parties but something has always made it move indoors, ranging from rain and police to riots. Hopefully these wont get moved.
