Yeah the Cindy storyline was definately one that was bigged up and then dropped. I do wonder what future some of the characters like her have. Yes I completely agree with the Ruby and Pete thing, they just changedthe headmaster didn't they, I don't even think he was ever even properly left. Even though the Cindy storyline was bigged up, I liked it. When she left I thought it was a good exit rather than the usual "i need to get some time away". I wonder the same, what do characters like her have left? People like Frankie, Jack, Tony. They seemed to be big before but over time they seem to have faded.

Yeah, they changed the headmaster. And Pete never even said goodbye, he was pretty fit as well. I find the whole O'Connor family so weird! Diane and Rob met because Diane was a pupil at Rob's school. Fast forward. Diane is living with Rob and his kids. The kids think there real mother died but hadn't. So then the kids get really angry and Rob leaves deciding it's for the best if HIS kids stay with Diane. Even though there angry at Diane because they found out she met there Dad at school when she was a pupil. Fast forward again. Diane is angry at Jen because she's seeing Tilly, when she did exactly the same thing. Tbh, I want that whole family to go!

You know I'm so clueless. And the writers have obviously thought about this because Brendan is a major character. I don't feel the audience knows enough about Walker. He seems like a background character. Yet Brendan involves him in everything, and trusts him more than Joel. Even though Lynsey warned him. So this makes me think something is going on.

I just don't know. Is Walker playing Brendan? Or is Brendan playing Walker? Walker says he's "gay", yet this was only mentioned in one scene. I just feel so confused.

Theresa killing Calvin really interests me, on Wikipedia (it was an interview with Calvin) he said he wishes someone else had killed him. Simply because Theresa doesn't have that much a motive and doesn't have it in her. Although I didn't watch it back then. Theresa doesn't seem like the type of person who would kill anyone. Therefore I think it should have been someone else. This makes me think the same thing will happen with Lynsey, it'll be that someone who we least expected but had no real motive to do so. However I can't be too sure because I never watched Hollyoaks back then so I don't know everything I only know what she's like now.
What does everyone think of Gilly raping Jacqui? Tbh, I was shocked. I think the whole storyline was really good. However, would Gilly do something like this? And where has Tom disappeared to? He's still in the titles.

I'm not sure I think it's as good as it was before. But that could just be because of several reasons such as my age, the length that I've watched it etc. The storylines are average at the minute but they fluctuate I suppose. I suppose there's always some sort of a drama though. I really liked that storyline actually, I thought it was brilliant. Especially the twists and turns that went with it. You'd never have thought it was her and I was so shocked when they said it was her. I loved it though, it was different. The only thing that ruined it is the fact that carmel just sort of forgave her, they should have done it so that Carmel never found out. Because it's too weird that she knows and they get on as normal. Plus I love the fact you never seen Kathleen angel, ever. I have no idea who looks after that kid haha.
I didn't like the whole Jacki being raped because only at the point where Gilly left when he realised that he had when she took him into their room was the point I realised that he actually had. I didn't like the trouble with her and Rhys wither it seemed really sad and they dragged that on for soooo long. It was a bit weird that he was with Steph and really nice, then turned weird. I loved it when Steph was with Max though, that was heart breaking when he was killed. Did you watch it then? I think that was the best time in Hollyoaks when max and Steph got together, when he died and when Steph was with Nile, and then Nile turned weird and killed Tina. The storylines around that time were all great tbh.

haven't been on this thread for ages and just read through everything and i totally agree with everyone!! so many random storylines get dropped and things don't seem to add up!

for example, does anyone know how many bedrooms are in the mcqueens and the osbornes houses?! because they seem to be able to take in everyone... ruby literally has no affiliation with the osbornes yet she seems to be allowed to live there. and the mcqueens situation really baffles me. Myra (before she was in prison) had no job. the only working member of the family seems to be carmel yet they appear to live in a mansion housing the whole huge family (including bart and theresa's baby), Liberty (at one point) and now phoebe!

I must admit that i do like the sixth formers. they are quite believable characters going through real teenage situations. Although i must add that Jono REALLY annoys me.

i LOVE brendan. he's the most perfect character to me. he is the local 'hardman' but he's also a very complex character. he's gay, with a son and he has soft spots for special people in his life. Other similar characters like Warren lacked this element. Brendan will do anything to protect Cheryl and Ste (and Lynsey when she was alive) and i think it's really sweet to see him being so caring.

The university students are a bit predictable in my opinion. I like the way that all of them are so different though. I really really like Ash, i think she's such a nice person who needs a big storyline of her own soon.

I think the Savage's are RIDICULOUS. You can't help but laugh tbh. Liberty is such an 'extra' who adds nothing to the show, apart from being the local singer you can bring out at random events. Dirk is even more 'extra' than Liberty. If they don't develop the storyline about him not being Dodgers real father soon, they may as well get rid of him. Will is... mehhh. i don't really care about him tbh. He was introduced as a geek and now he's some rugby 'meathead' (as Ash would say) soooo, i guess we're done with him then.

The 'Who Killed Lynsey' storyline is absolutely brilliant. It was much needed as there were so many minor storylines going on, and without a major one, it could have become a bit boring. It's a shame that it had to be Lynsey who was killed though. I really really liked her but i guess that makes it even more interesting for me as i'm now actually angry with whoever did it

The mitzeee/mercedes/riley/dr browning storyline is great as well. I find Riley really annoying because if i was him, i wouldn't give mercedes the time of day. Of course, she should be allowed to see bobby (despite the fact that she obviously doesn't care about him), but there's no way he should have let her stay with him after she got stabbed. and oh yeah, the fact that she stabbed herself?!?! i couldn't believe what i was watching. that crazy bitch literally stabbed herself. W.T.F WAS THAT?! jeeeez, i hope she gets found out soon. and sectioned. i love mitzeee so much, but i don't get the whole cell-mate storyline. i just hope she gets out of prison soon dr browning could be the saviour in this. i just WISH he went through with the police thing when he told her that he discharged mercedes early, that could've been it

Just for the record... Hollyoaks is my favourite soap and I'm literally addicted, no matter how many of the characters i would love to see leave

There have been many many times I have tried to work out how many rooms are in their houses!! Noone even really appears to share rooms.. Mercedes had a single room with noone else in it lol. They all just seemed to appear in one room as though it was theirs lol

oh yeah, father francis. forgot about him. it was too good to be true. poor carmel, she's one of the nicest most genuine characters (the only truly genuine mcqueen in my opinion) and she gets so much hardship. remember when she was a PCSO? that was a VERY part time job. she was a pcso for like a week, then left it for like a year then came back to it for like a day. very strange.

and does anyone know who owns that gym? coz it used to be the premises for cindy's gym right? well who owns it now?

Yeah I know the businesses of Hollyoaks are so random. Like the flower shop too, who the hell owns that that just appeared. And then Tonys little cafe thing lol. That gym just appeared too, I think tony owns it doesn't he? Because when they were waiting to see who turned up on who was the manager I thought it was Tony? Unless I've got muddled up.
They made no storyline of Tony and Cindy getting back together did they, I think they just needed to create space so they were like right shove her back with tony then thats one less storyline lol.
Leanne annoys me beyond belief, hated her from the day she arrived with Lee, and Dennis, well he's just a dopier version of Lee which makes me confused as to why she doesn't fancy him lol. I can't see what is going to happen with that storyline, it's so annoying lol.
