I, perhaps ashamedly, laughed when Alexis got her rejection from Sanford. Loved Castles double take when Beckett mentioned College Girls Gone Wild infact I love all the moments like that across all the seasons. My personal favourite is her "admission" about a tattoo

I like that the "issues" seemed to have disappeared for the moment and all has returned to "normal". As much as a bit of drama is good, it works really well when all is calm. I also like how because of that the spotlight is more on Castle's family with Alexis and we see more of his mother too.

Do you think Beckett's laying on the gooey eyed a bit thick? I loved the question about her boobs. Poor Castle.

I want to see more of Martha, she's very underused as a character. She seems to come in for either emotional support or comic relief. I have to say, in the finale of the 3rd series her bit about the movie made me cry like a baby.

To be honest, I'd like to see more spotlight on Beckett's family. That's one area that is badly underdeveloped and it makes me feel like the show is more Castle's than the pair of them.

And yes, I want to see more of Ryan and Esposito. Especially Ryan, he's so cute!

I also like you're not above checking out spoilers on the net. 3xK indeed! Will be so cool.

Loved Esposito as a homeboy, that was hilarious.

They need to show Castle investigating Beckett's mum's case a bit more though. I dislike that we aren't even seeing him pondering it. The show needs to keep the threads spinning, not drop them then pick them back up when it's convenient. Though, they did sort of admit that in the season 3 finale, with Castle's angry speech when Beckett asked him what they were.

If you were a 16 yr old girl, who was clever and used to getting things she worked for, you'd be the same if you were rejected from a big name college Definitely agree that Martha is still massively underused although it was nice to see her in the middle of an episode for once In the same vein, I didn't mind that Castle/Beckett situation was left for this week - it's good to have characters like Ryan and Esposito in the limelight a bit more. I think they're better that "extra characters to boost the main two" if you get my drift. Kind of similar to your issue with Martha

I think Beckett's mum's case must rear it's head again soon - a few episodes in and they'll start to get more serious, I just hope all the comedy isn't lost. I think that's the appeal of the series, well for me in some ways, at least.
