    reference required for application?
I don't have anyone who can speak of my design skills since I don't have any previous study in this area, is it required to have a reference letter?
If I focus on my personal statement, will that be okay?
    thanks

If this is for Foundation, you'll probably be OK, I'm sure you can just get a reference from a current employer or something saying you're a hard worker and such, cos your portfolio should speak for itself

well you better get onto working on a portofolio! I suppose you're applying for 2012, so you'll have time.

I've seen a few people just walk in with one A3 sketch book, but they do recommend about 20 sheets of A1 paper, with mounted work and a few sketch books.

i suck though at art, i wanted to get a diploma to learn more
and i dont have any idea what to do
i just have my project, it is a big project though like i worked on it a few years
it shows creativity and coming up with original ideas, but not really any drawing, art or design skills
    so i dont know

i want to study fashion but i dont have a portfolio right now and i dont know how to make one

well, all I can say is, you better sign up for some drawing classes!! just anything! Look at your nearest adult learning centre, and see what they can offer.

Even though it is a foundation dipolma, we're looking at university level. they'll be building on things, to help you carry on to uni.
