I'm currently working on my family law coursework which asks the following:
In 1970 the Departmental Committee on the Adoption of Children provisionally proposed a ban on the adoption of a child by his step-parent. This proposal was not, however, taken up in its final report. Your task is:
a) To explain, how such a ban, if implemented today, would impact on English family law; and
b) To consider, whether the Commission's proposal should be revisited?
So, in brief, I would be having to explain the existing legal rules, the proposals for change and provide critical judgements about the law reform proposals.
I would really appreciate any input as I'm currently struggling with it big time!
