Re: Edinburgh Medical School Applicants 2012it was really great - the staff and students all seemed super friendly - the old medical college was very grand while the new medical school and the hospital seemed to have state-of-the-art facilities so for me, it was really like having best of both worlds if you know what i mean?
also the curriculum seems very well-designed and organised - it really seems integrated in every sense of the word - a solid focus on the basic sciences in the first few years - adequate choice in the options within the SSCs (some with a strong research focus) and then a really smooth transition to clinical teaching in years 3,4,5.
if i remember correctly, you were considering kings as well - and being in the same position - i'd pick edinburgh any day

Re: Edinburgh Medical School Applicants 2012
UKCAT - 630 average but my overall score (2520) was the exact average score of applicants (according to Dundee).
Exams- straight As so I think Edinburgh said I got an excellent for that
Non-academic was the tier under excellent, can't remember what it was though! -

Re: Edinburgh Medical School Applicants 2012Hello!(Original post by Georgie Doll)
Great decision to apply to Edinburgh guys
I applied last year and will be starting the course next month (so excited!) so I'd be happy to help with any questions you have about admissions, the course etc. I was a Scottish applicant so I don't know too much about the English requirements but I'll do my best to help!
Edinburgh is a fantastic city with a great medical school, you won't regret applying there!
I'm from Singapore and would most likely be going to UK to further my medical degree.
I would like to enquire how do singapore're A level results compare with the one over in the UK? i have 4 As from the A levels i have taken in Singapore, how is it compared to the one in UK?
I would like to ask how is the medical school over at University of Endin burghlike?
How is medicine taught over at Endinburgh? highly theory based or PBL?
How is the student life over there? living conditions etc. -
That's amazing! Congratulations! When did you find out?(Original post by fighting_on)
