No it's not down to luck, how can you be so arrogant as to say so?
I don't think anyone (at least I think others feel the same way) trusts you completely on this thread.

    It's in this document, point 11. http://www.smd.qmul.ac.uk/undergradu...rses/57249.doc

''The tariff and interview score will both be considered in determining which applicants will be offered places''
To get an offer then i'm gonna have to have nailed the interview up a wall.
Considering i'm one of the lowest ucas tariffs interviewed.

We have a potentially very long wait and it doesn't look like we're going to hear anytime soon, i think we should move the topic away, like maybe discuss the article or talk about how awesome barts is or maybe how little we're looking forward to moving to whitechapel(omg east london rude boys)........................

Hey guys, I've had my interview and have been waiting for a reply since december (man it's been a real long wait). I've also had an interview at Leeds. I'm more than certain that I'm going to get an offer from both uni's as the interviews went amazingly (especially for barts. it was more like a casual discussion rather than an interview).
Can someone please give me all the reasons why I should choose barts over leeds. I know both are amazing places, but I really can't decide. Both look good. Can someone make barts more appealing for me. thanks

are many people thinking of living on campus? if so which halls of accommodation? i heard one is more medic based and I will probably apply to there... apparently its not as nice (in terms of en-suite) but as a graduate i wanna be around people who understand the amount of work well have to do...

all this obviously depending on offers.... hurry up barts

How in the world is that arrogant? I think you mean ignorant?

It is down to luck. Getting into medicine is down to luck. Yes people argue that people being rejected and given offers have a reason for having that decision but that is only partly true. There are so many factors that we as applicants are oblivious of, eventually it comes down to luck. It comes down to the quality of the applicants, the uni's requirements and so many other reasons but it all leads back to luck. People who work hard and do everything right may or may not get offers. Why is that? Luck.
I'm sorry. I, and I'm sure many others will disagree with you. People work to get interviews and offers, it's never a case of "oh he got lucky". Yes, sometimes rejections can be a bit unlucky and it seems unfair that you got rejected when XYZ got in when you had better ABC. But thats life.

I think to claim that the entire process is down to luck is both naive and stupid.

Hey, are any of the current students living at the intercolegiate halls? If I go to barts I'm considering living there as the rooms are nicer. What are your opinions?
