Oh and the 2 exam diets in 1st year are of equal importance, though if you fail in january you can resit in may as well as august.
Has the weighting for basic science been dropped now then? It used to be worth something ridiculous like 40 credits when every other module was 20. Still feeling the effects of that dragging my average down several years on.

Well there are two science courses at the start of 1st year so its the same as half of first year - worth 20 and 15 respectively, with the 1st term anatomy being worth 5. That is versus 1st year systems being worth 20 and the osce/opse (clinical/anatomy) worth 20.

2nd year stuff I notice is 30 credits for systems and 30 for osce/ospe (clinical/anatomy).

If you look back at the first 3 or 4 pages of this thread there are pros and cons from current students

Depends on the group and how much effort you put in, I have really enjoyed mine though. You get a general subject area or question and then research it. In 1st year my group looked at how environmental risk factors and genetics interplay in whether or nor someone develops schizophrenia and in 2nd year (different group) we looked at how pain conduction is dependent on voltage gated sodium ion channels in the cell membranes of pain nerves.

Is anyone going to the offer holders weekend thing that Aberdeen usually offer in June? Content was mainly geared towards King's based students but was useful to meet other medics and to spend some time in halls.

I've just been offered an interview for late June!!!!!!!!!!!!! :woo: Words cannot describe how I'm feeling - a mixture of elation and anxiety! I'm really scared tbh - I was/am preparing for a gap year after receiving 2 post interview rejections and one rejection before interview. I feel really under prepared (even though I have a month) and I've got exams. AND the interview time clashes with one of my exams, so I need to ring admissions up. Is anyone else in the same boat?

Seriously in a state of disbelief.

    That's crazy/amazing.

The waiting list was said to have over 100 people on it. So most must have firmed other places then. You are super super lucky. I hope you get a place now

Thank you! Did you apply to liverpool? Because I think I talked to you on the applicants thread
They sent an email saying that they were basically a bit stringent on giving offers due to the reduced number of places and they didn't want to give out too many offers.

Couldn't quite believe it when I got the email! What does this mean in terms of UCAS because the deadline has been and gone?
Not sure tbh. I think that there's a july deadline about decisions made in june. Need to check UCAS website. Also, well done!
