I think you're underestimating his/her intelligence either thanks to a compensation mechanism or a subconscious first impression provided via the neg reps.

The logical conclusion for me was that s/he was asking if that brand/bottle existed, but I doubt that as it would be product placement, and you don't get any of that realism *******s in soaps.

Writers in soaps don't actually have a lot of leeway tbh. They have to make the best of the plots they're given. I think she did a great job of that.
